I'm so excited to be going to a Sex in the City themed party on New Year's Eve!! :) It wont be lucid, we're just going to have NY style cocktails, celebrate with NY and dance, a lot!! The person hosting it said we can come dressed like one of the four girls if we want.

In real life, I'm a Miranda/Charlotte mixture. But would love to be Carrie or Samantha for the party. :D

What are your plans??

We are going to a New Year's service at church, where everybody shares a year's end testimony. It's such an awesome time! Then we are going to a party (play games and munch) until midnight.

And then, on Saturday morning, we are having a brunch. We have invited 9 people. I'm planning on doing omelets to order -- I'll have bowls of ham, sausage, bacon, peppers & onions, and a couple of cheeses and everybody can choose what they want on their omelet. Besides that, I'm going to make coffee cake, mini-muffins, fruit platters. I'll also serve coffee, tea, juice and hot mulled apple cider.

I can't wait!!! :)

I am doing nothing. As always. *sigh*

That party sounds like SO much fun!! I would love to go to something like that. You will have a great time. Find your inner Carrie and cut loose! LOL

Missy (sirrahsim) and hubby Paul sent my hubby a Hickory Farms YUMMY snack gift box so we are going to snack on that and watch a video here at home. Then we will be asleep long before midnight:D :D

We are old ya know;) We used to love those late night parties when we were younger, but a night home with the kitties, snacks and a video sounds wonderful these days.

Sitting home by myself with Mina being bored. More than likely I'll be in bed before midnight. Lee has to work, and I don't like the neighbors so that is out of the question.

Nothing as usual. I don't get invited to parties, so I will just stay at home and go to bed early, like normal.

Andy and I were invited to a party in Chicago, but he's not up for travelling (not that I blame him).

So we are going to stay in, watch the ball drop on TV, and spend an intimate evening alone. :D

We're not doing anything special - just inviting a few people over in the afternoon for a quick visit, then they'll be on their way before dark. The kids are planning on inviting a ton of their friends over. We have plenty of movies and are stockign up on chips and soda. :D

I'll hide out in my room all night with the monsters while my house is invaded my teenagers. :D

New Years Plans? what is that? We haven't done anything for New Years since I don't know when...lol. I actually have that whole weekend off but Alden is working 2nd trick :( I'll probably be hanging out with the girls and watching movies. Sounds like a nice evening to me.

We are going to a party at my sister in laws. I'm thrilled that she's having one because hubby wanted to have one at our house but I don't think the furkids would be too thrilled about it. Neither would I because I'm still worn out from all the Christmas company.

Nothing fancy ;)
My husband has 4 sister (he ie the youngest of 5 ;) :D ). Every year, on December 31th, we organize a family dinner. As we are with 5, it is our turn every 5 years :) ! Next year is our turn!!

That evening starts with a long dinner and yummie desserts. At midnight, we all wish each other a Happy New Year and give 3 kisses to everyone. Then we exchange gifts. 1 month ago, we all got the name of ONE person, and we promised to buy a present for him/her. It is all a big secret! While all of us women chat the night away, our men play cards, and drink a glass of good wine. We usually go home around 3 am :)

I have to work until midnite so I will be going to work in 2004 and coming home in 2005! :)
But on Saturday we always have dinner with the family and we are going to my Mom's house.
This is the first Christmas and New Years without my grandma and she is the reason we always had dinner on New Years day. She always fixed saurkraut and made pillows. (that was something can't remember why tho.)

I suppose Mike and I will go feed the stray cats at Wal-Mart again. Watching a movie sounds good, I am going to buy Garfield and that is what I'll do! Make that Oreo desert to take to New Years dinner at my sons... My partying days are over... Been there, done that.. Had fun, now it's time to relax.

My friend's children have a new home (beautiful old home, but new to them).

They want to break it in by having a New Year's Eve party.

It should be a lot of fun.........all ages there................and fun people everyone.

I just hope I don't yawn too much.........this body likes its bed a lot earlier than midnight!

Slick,

I wish I lived closer. We could get hopelessly drunk, pig out on shrimp cocktail and watch old movies till we pass out!!

I'm not doing anything either. I probably won't make it to midnight. I figure the new year is coming whether I'm awake or not, so why lose sleep over it???

I WAS thinking about trying to teach MooShoo how to play strip poker, but what fun would THAT be? :p:p

Happy New Year everyone!

Sounds like everyone has some fun and/or relaxing things to do. :)

At least if you're working, maybe it'll be slow and you can fool around on PT?? Or so busy it goes by fast?

Lut...that sounds like a really great tradition! :)

We usually go to an annual bonfire that Rob's Aunt throws every New Years, but considering we were in Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania for Christmas this year, I just want to stay home and relax...put my little boy to bed early ,and relax in a warm house, maybe watch a movie with hubby...

I pretty much figure the New Year will arrive whether I see it in or not, I like to see all the fireworks go off, as it is quite a display, but I rarely make it past 11pm these nights.

Might venture out to the Casino, but somehow I imagine I will be at home with hubby and daughter and the furkids, and for me that is more than enough, to know they are here with me.

One year we went to Rotorua, about 1 half hrs drive from where I live, its one of NZ's well known tourist spots, with geysers ,hot pools etc, we stayed in a nice motel with its own private mineral pool, and Rotorua had a great carnival and entertainment with bands, etc, it was a great night, but our daughter was only young then so we could not see the new year in, maybe next time.

I must admit to secretly wanting to do something really unusual or mad, and one of these days I just might....lol:) :D

Justin's parents usually have a party, but they are in Maryland this year, so no party. We're just staying home. I have to work the next morning anyway. We'll probably watch the ball drop and go to bed soon after that. I usually don't get to bed until around midnight anyway.

Carole, watching the ball drop is a tradition in New York City. About a million people gather in Times square to watch a big lighted ball come down to signal the start of 2005.

I staying home with the mutts. I rented 3 movies, and will have the volume up loud to deter the annoying fireworks.

I bought a bunch of goodies at the store and the mutts and I will be laying on the couch, watching movies together.

We already watched the movie "Good Boy" -- Kiara growled and barked at the dogs in it the whole time. :p

I've been invited to two parties so I'll split the evening between the two. The first is more of a family party with one of my closest friends and her huge extended family. I have to remember to take a picture of all the dozens shoes outside the front door! It's funny! :o
The second is technically my friend's brother's party (he's a freshman in college) but she's inviting some of her friends as well. They live up on a ridge and will have a great view of all of the fireworks as well as the ocean. :D I haven't seen this friend since summer so I'm dying to see her! She's my soul sister. :p I'll stay the night at their place because I feel unsafe driving later than 10 pm on New Year's.

I hope everyone has a most enjoyable evening! :D

I was supposed to go to a party at a friend's house, but she got the flu. Than another friend of mine was supposed to come over here and sleep over, but she couldn't.

So I'm just going to bake cookies and make ice cream sundays for my sisters and Il. :)

Well its New Year's Day in NZ, and it is a rough day, windy, raining and stormy, summer is still trying to make it downunder, but un-successfully so far, I did not make it to 12, crashed at 10.45 pm, but just as we were heading out to do the papers at 7 am , in walks my son through the gate, he had just got home, apparently he had quite a good new years eve.

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone.:)
