So far things are looking pretty good- I just might be purchasing my dream horse Buckwheat. Like some here know, I met Buckwheat in person back in August. My friend Amy and I went to New Venture Farm (http://www.rpiincorp.com/newventurefarm/) (where he was bred and raised) to tour the farm and meet him. The facility is amazing, and the Arabians there are even more amazing. Linda (and her husband Roger) is the most amazing lady I have ever met- she is so passionate about her horses and her breeding program, she is an inspiration to everyone who meets her. In September, Buckwheat was moved to Illinois to start professional training. Linda was not happy with the training facility and trainer, so she sent Buckwheat to Red Tail Arabians (http://www.redtailarabians.com)- one of the most premiere Arabian training facilities in the Midwest, they are world renown. I talk to Linda just about every day online; she constantly updates me about her horses and Buckwheat's training progress. She has invited me to come over for the weekend after New Years to help around the farm and visit again. When I got to the farm January 7th, I will most likely be making an offer and putting money down on Buckwheat. Hopefully- that is. (She also said that she needs help with foaling this spring and has asked me to help her- of course I could not say no to that offer, lol.) Linda knows I am extremely interested in Buckwheat, and she is helping to see that I have ample opportunity to purchase him. She also asked me to come along to a show he will be in on Memorial Day weekend, so I can see exactly how his training has progressed.

I am currently looking around at all the boarding facilities in the area; thank goodness I am in a good location with many facilities in the area. I already have my top two stables in my mind and have contacted them about boarding information. Corrus Equine Center is the place I would LOVE to board- their facility is amazing- along with Fox Creek.

Buckwheat has extremely long legs for an Arabian (they look good on him), he is very well built in the rear end and would make for an excellent jumping Arabian. His stamina and high power drive, along with the long legs, would help him soar over the jumps. He has been shown many times in halter classes and has walked away with nothing under second place- his conformation is amazing- so I would also continue to work halter with him. Last time I saw Buck, he was around 15.2 hands, but the trainer at Red Tail informed Linda that he hit a growth spurt and has grown a considerable amount. I am unsure how tall he is now. He is only 4 years old and has a lot to learn, he has been in the show ring many times though- so he is a decent amount of exposure to the common show ring elements, which is what I want.
