Woa that's a lot. But nothing is too bad when it gives you a snow day. :D The dogs must love it too.

I should get some pictures but not right now. It's raining/hailing outside. :(

Oh gosh, we got ICE last night, and a little snow...not enough to count though. Here's a couple pics I took:

Ice on the trees:

And the grass is really weird...every piece has a coating of ice on it!! This was taken from one of our decks(not very close though):

I've read about all of the snow that fell on CNN's website. I'm so jealous. Its been cold here and we have a bare skiff of snow but for the most part it's just brown and dead looking here. I'm in Western Canada for petes sake, we are supposed to have a white Christmas!! They say we can expect blowing snow and high wind chills for Boxing Day (Dec 26).

Stay with us Richard....stay with us.......I think you are thinking of another thread..... ;) I thought the only snow you would get comes in a spray can at the local five and dime. ;)

No snow here yet on the Wet Coast of BC. Last year we had maybe a week of snow all Winter long at different intervals. The most we ever get is about 5-10 cms (oh dear, there I go again talking in Canuck language)....I mean about 4 inches. Very rarely do we get any more than 6-8 inches.

I remember when I was a kid we used to get alot more snow. Yeah for global warming.

Rain. Rain by the buckets. Drownpouring rain - 4 inches of standing water in parking lots rain. Soaked to the skin through three layers of clothing rain. Being glad to be driving the CRV becuase the puddles on the roads were big enough to drown our Corrola. Fifty degrees, big winds, then rain rain rain and rain and it's - yup - raining still. Pout! I want my snow! (I know, I should be more generous and be happy that people who almost never get snow even got snow.) Sigh.

Did I mention it's raining?

Yeah it's freezing here now. Supposed to be -15 without the wind tomorrow night:eek:

Karen, come on by...I'm sure Bon and Roxey would just love to play with Rocky!

And you know what that nawtee girl is doing now? The drifts by the pool are so high that she's jumping on top of the pool:eek: Good thing it's frozen right now. We're gonna have to get out there and get rid of her jumping drift!

Anna, I can't believe the snow is that high! That is just inconceivable to me. I cannot imagine being in that cold plus the wind. I wouldn't make it there. That wind was cold enough in November. How in the world do you crawl out of your nice warm bed to go to work? I'm afraid I'd get fired for not showing up.

For the 18th year - we ended up with a white Christmas. The same storm that hit Ohio came through our area on Christmas Eve day. We got about 8 inches. It is so pretty when it first snows, but shoveling it was back breaking. I took pictures of my two pups romping in the snow - they had so much fun:

No white Christmas on Cape Cod BUT, as I type, ti's coming down like mad and we're expecting 9 plus inches with 50 mph gusts! Oh well, as they, timing is everything in life! A day late and dollar short:D Can't wait to take pics of the girls out in the snow!

Ugh, did it snow!:( It was a costal storm so we got the brunt, about 15 inches of wet, heavy snow. Started snowing around dinner time and then the wind kicked in, up to 50 mph gusts. By 7 or 8pm, we started losing power; off two hours, back on for an hour, then off again, all night long. Poor Cody gets totally frantic when the lights, TV all suddenly go off at once, not unlike how dogs who are afraid of thunderstorms act. That along with the howling winds, branches hitting the house, etc., she was inconsolable, pacing, panting, pawing me wanting to go out. You couldn't even see outside for the snow and I was so afraid to let her out...that I wouldn't be able to find her in the woods. The yard is fully fenced but goes way back into the woods. The wind chill was around 10 and she with her Husky fur coat would get cold! I finally gave in and let her out, the lights went on again and I got her back in. Then it started all over again!!! I don't think I slept more than 1 hour at a time. Woke up at 7am, the lights were on then shortly thereafter, out again!!! Finally they came on for good...knock wood...around 10 am. There are whole trees down all over, power lines down, some places don't have electricity, the street lights don't work and even the banks are closed! My beautiful lilacs, hydrangeas, 12 foot high privet hedge are all bent down to the ground:(

Logan
12-27-2004, 02:24 PM
Well, there's my answer, Sandra (see my earlier email). I knew you had been dumped on.

Hope the beautiful plants will recuperate from the beating, and that Cody (and you) will have a better night, tonight. :) Stay warm!!!!! Or, better yet, come south! :D
