:D Emma is HOME!!!!!!

We got home about 15 minutes ago, she was VERY quiet all the way home, and is still very quiet and wobbly.

They checked her for fleas while she was asleep, and she doesn't have any, but she still digs at her tail and another area on her back.

In 10-12 days she has to go to get her stitches out, and the vet is going to talk to us about her scratching then.

Here are a couple of pictures, they aren't too good because she's really sleepy(obviously ;)).

Poor girl in the carrier:

All she wants to do is lay on the floor, I then put a blanket in this spot and she layed somewhere else on the floor!

Her cut :(

I just wanted to ask about her licking it and stuff, is she suposed to, or no?

Thanks for thinking of her(and me) today!!

I am glad that Emma is home safe and sound and back with her meowmie. Now you can spoil her rotten over Christmas.

She is not supposed to lick the surgery area, but my guys all had dissolvable stitches and they didn't try and clean the area so I have no words on how to prevent her from doing it.

But I am glad she is back home now :D

Don't know if they're supposed to lick, but they will.

Josie licked hers and even pulled a few stitches out herself!

Glad to see Emma is at home! She's a pretty girl!

Mine licked too. She was jumping in about two days. She did pull at the stiches herself too. She was fine though so yours will be too. I figure it can't hurt for them to clean it - it is better to stay clean. :) Debbie

Scold and discourage her from fooling with that area for a couple of days... Distract her, do whatever it takes. Pulling them out to soon could cause an infection. Always keep her where you can keep and eye out and scold her when you see her doing that.. It is new, no hair, has to feel funny but in a few days, she will forget it is there. Samantha was jumping and playing as normal the very next day.

Oh so glad Emma is home! I bet she IS wobbly and a little goofy acting from the anesthesia. I remember Emily licking at her stitches but not too much and no biting or anything so I did not worry. For the most part, she acted like she did not know anything was done!

Hope you two get a good night of sleep tonight!!:D

Glad she's home and that's all behind her.

Don't let her get at the stitches if you can. It can get infected and that's not a good thing at a sugery site.

Emma is licking at her stitches quite a bit, she looked like she was biting at them at one time, I distracted her quickly though.

Im just worrying about tonight when I won't be able to watch her.

Emma is beautiful! Glad she's home. If she keeps licking and pulling at her stitches, you might want to get an E-collar till she goes to the vet. You can get them at any Petco, Pet Supplies Plus or PetSmart.

Happy Holidays Emma and welcome home!!
