No, I think it's gross. Even the name is nauseating.

I love it! But right now I'm on a diet so I haven't had it at all this holiday season. I think on Christmas I'll treat myself to a cup of it.

I love it!! I love McDonald's egg nog shakes, and I even bought some Eggnog flavored fudge!! ( I've only had the alcoholic version once, i usually get the non-alcoholic)

Lut- here are two recipes. One has alcohol, the other does not...( and unfortunately, they both have US measurements)

Eggnog (w/alcohol)
6 eggs
1 cup + 1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3/4 cup brandy
1/3 cup dark rum (Captain Morgan for best flavor, but Myers is OK)
2 cups whipping cream
2 cups milk
All liquids should be very cold. Refrigerate in advance.
Beat the eggs for 2 or 3 minutes with an electric mixer at medium speed until very frothy. Gradually beat in the sugar, vanilla and nutmeg. Turn the mixer off and stir in the cold brandy, rum, whipping cream and milk Chill before serving. Sprinkle individual servings with more nutmeg.

Classic Cooked Egg-nog (non-alcoholic)
6 eggs
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt, optional
1 quart milk* divided
1 teaspoon vanilla,
Garnishes or Stir-Ins, optional
In large saucepan, beat together eggs, sugar and salt, if desired. Stir in 2 cups of the milk. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is thick enough to coat a metal spoon with a thin film and reaches at least 160°F. Remove from heat. Stir in remaining 2 cups milk and vanilla. Cover and refrigerate until thoroughly chilled, several hours or overnight. Just before serving, pour into bowl or pitcher. Garnish or add stir-ins, if desired. Serve immediately.

*For faster preparation heat milk until very warm before stirring milk into eggs and sugar.

MICROWAVE: In 2-quart liquid measure or bowl, beat together eggs, sugar and salt, if desired, until thoroughly blended. Set aside. In l -quart liquid measure or bowl, cook 2 cups of the milk on full power until bubbles form at edges, about 5 to 6 minutes. Stir into egg mixture. Cook on 50% power until mixture is thick enough to coat a metal spoon with a thin film and reaches at least 160°F, about 5 to 6 minutes. Stir in remaining 2 cups milk and vanilla. Continue as above.

Makes about 2-1/2 quarts.

I enjoy eggnog in small doses. It's definitely not something I can chug down like milk or water.

I picked up a bottle of 'Southern Eggnog'. It has whiskey and rum in it. That should be interesting to try.

The doctor told Andy to drink lots of it this season. ;) :D

I love it and always make a point of buying some each year. I always buy the low fat version though, because it really doesn't taste any different than the high fat version, so why have all that wasted fat? And I wouldn't be surprised if they came up with a low sugar version this year too, since there are so many carb watchers out there these days.

One year we decorated a friends tree accompanied by spiked egg nog. The next day tree looked great but I sure didn't. I'm sure it was the combinaton of liquor and heavy sweet drink, but eeewwww....I really didn't feel that good. :p

Now fruitcake, that's a whole other story....;)

I love eggnog, though I don't drink it too much; maybe one quart during the holiday season. I used to make my own, but now just buy what is in the stores.

I love it, but too much makes me sick, so I drink 2 little glasses a day maximum, I only like the low fat stuff though the regular stuff does not taste as good lol, I think egg nog is the ONLY drink that I like the low fat version better then the regular lol

http://www.recipezaar.com/r/q=eggnog

all the recipes you could want you will find there...

My Grandmother use to make the BEST eggnog you ever tasted and it was a tradition to have eggnog at Grandma's. I recently had a younger family member ask me if I had her recipe and I searched the internet until I found one that was like hers.. When I am desperate for a quick eggnof, I just use instand pudding mix and "water" it down with a lot of milk and it satisfies the craving!!

Absolutely...HOWEVER....

Hot eggnog is WAY better than cold eggnog. I had NO IDEA until last year, and I don't think I'll ever go back to drinking it cold!
