I wanted to be the first to post today on Dog of the Day. All the award winners touch my heart, but NONE more than the seniors. In their eyes, sighted or not, you see and feel the beauty and depth of their years: The love, devotion, patience and most especially, the wisdom. These senior canines have so much to offer us, and teach us. They deserve all the love, adulation and tender care we can give them. What the passing of time may have taken from them, the years have also blessed them, and all of us. I can only hope to pass into MY senior years with such dignity and grace. Jake, you may no longer see with your eyes; no matter, the beauty of your soul shines through. I salute you beautiful, beautiful, Jake. I wish I could shake your paw. It is an honor to have "met" you. Congratulations Jake; I salute you "Dog of the Day!" A Very Happy Christmas to you and your people.

Tatts ...... beautifully put!! Ditto!! Three out of four of my dogs lived 13+ years. My toy poodle, Peaches, walked off the deck (fortunately did not get hurt!!) when her cataracts got so bad. She didn't see the edge. Hats off to Jake. A wonderful dog!!

Yes, Tatts, said it so well there is not much to add except my personal congratulations to wonderful Jake. He is one of the real troopers who not only still earns his keep, but does it with heart, soul, and courage. Today, you are Dog of the Day, Jake, but for Kevin and Betsy you are a Forever Dog.

Jake you are so beautiful. You are a kind old man and you have aged beautifully. You look a little bit like my beautiful old yellow lab, who's waiting to greet me in heaven now. He was also so kind and beautiful. May you have many more years to protect that wonderful family of yours http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif
