Peanut what a surprise to see your little face on Pet of the Day. I never knew squirrels could make such nice little companions. Two years ago I had a squirrel mommy visit my attic by way of the attic fan. She chose to give birth up there and we had to have the "squirrel man" come in and trap her and her little family and release them back into the woods. Maybe she was a distant cousin? http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif I am so glad your "mommy" nursed you back to health and that you are enjoying such a nice life. I enjoyed hearing about you today. http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

Peanut, what a lucky squirrel you are! My family raised two baby squirrels that survived Hurricane Hugo when the tree they were being raised in crashed to the ground. Their survival was one bright spot in an otherwise miserable situation in our hometown in SC. My mind has gone blank and I can not remember what their names were. I can tell you their lives weren't quite as "cushy" as yours as they stayed in a pen outdoors and were later released back in the wild.
Congratulations to you on being the Pet of the Day! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/biggrin.gif

Peanut,

You are CUTE! I also raised a baby orphan squirrel named Little Bit for about 1.5 months. He was not quite as tame as you, when he wanted to go back out to the woods, he REALLY wanted to go back out to the woods! He was my first lession of "if you love someone, set them free". I sure wanted him to like being my pet, so I would not have had to set him free. Maybe you are one of his babies!!!

Peanut, I love the way you are lounging on the arm of that couch. You look quite at home there http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif Congrats, you little nut, for chosing to stay with your parents and for making it to Pet of the day http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

Hi Peanut!! What a precious little "nut" you are!! I'm so glad you were snatched from the jaws of almost certain death by your human angels! All things considered, I think you made the right choice in staying with your loving humans! That couch just looks tooooo comfortable! Loved hearing your very sweet story little Peanut! You are an adorable, most deserving "Pet of the Day" that has made my day brighter!! Yeah Peanut!!
