Our cousin, Alex, just told us that they are having to put their 9 yr. old lab named Maggie to sleep today. The dog has diabetes, and can't walk anymore, etc. so they decided to end her suffering. :(
I dont know all the details, but I answered the phone when she called to talk to my sister, and she was crying really hard..

I don't think shes been put to rest yet, but
