Love:

Hate:
The winters here.
It can be uber boring.

Love: Nothing *Yes Realy*

Hate: It is cold in Winter, too hot in Summer. There are no interesting pubs/ clubs to go to. The unemployment rate is quite high. Street violence is on the rise, along with various other crimes. I could go on for ever.... & ever ;).

Would i ever leave? Hmmm probably not because of the dogs, all their friends and sports are here.

Love:
I'm centrally located...I'm less then two hours from snow, San Fransisco, Santa Cruz, Sacramento, etc...And I'm just less then three hours from Tahoe and a little more from Reno.

The hot summer nights.
The mild winters.

Good nightlife.

Hate:
Dust and allergies from the farms.
It's getting to crowded with Bay Area people.

Would I ever leave?
I would leave Modesto, but not California. Unless I'm leaving the country.

LOVE

The friendliness of the people
The summer months
The sunsets
The valley not far from my house
Less mosquitos than MN

HATE
The 20 below winters
The stupid wind
The "dogs are supposed to be outside" mentality of the farmers
The coyotes :o I'm scared of them...sorry :(
No frogs/toads/salamanders :(
No Valley Fair-not that I lived down there, but we would go down there at least once a year

I am sure there are more, but I can't think of them all....:o

I have lived here for over 21 years, and have seen some changes in my neighbourhood for sure, for example there is now a housing subdivision with heaps of new homes across from me called Sherwood Park, very upmarket homes, which used to be all farm land.

I do miss seeing the sheep and donkeys and cows, although they did bring a certain odour with them and some flies, however the new houses are nice and have increased the value of my property so that is the positive.

I love that I am so close to town, schools, hospital, university, everything is within at least 5 to ten mins drive away.

I don't enjoy the increased traffic volume, alot of people cut through the new subdivision to town, and it has increased so much.

I enjoy the foot traffic, lots of people walk past my house, although sometimes I wish our section was more private.

I love all the new kitties that have arrived since the new housing went up, and I get to meet a lot of them when I help my daughter do her paper round.

I hate that most of the properties are rentals, except for where I am directly and the new houses, as there are far too many loud parties and the property's are not in general looked after, so the area looks messy.

I wish I lived nearer the sea, or at least had a view of the water.
I do love my city, built by the river, it has pretty river walks and lots of places you can go overlooking the river, like the casino etc, and the fact Hamilton is not too large, but has most of the conveniences I need, like some decent shops.

All in all I am pretty happy living here and not in a hurry to pack up and leave, not until I can afford something better.:)

Love:

The weather...above everything.
The mountains/hills
The ocean/beaches
The people...in general
My friends
almost everything...
And mostly the fact that its the place I call 'home'.

Hate:

Living expenses.......not only are houses incredibly pricey here, but they get more and more expensive every year.

Earthquakes

Hmmm.......I don't think I really hate much else here.

Love:
my friends are here
we're fairly centrally located, ie. close to Phx, San Diego, Vegas
the winter weather

Hate:
Summers
NO WATER!!!!!!
snowbirds (all the old people who come down here for the winter)
the shades of brown and earth tones, I miss the green!
the lack of a really good Gay scene, it's ok, but not that great
the fact that rock and gravel is considered a "yard"

Would I ever want to leave? Absolutely! i'd love to move back to Hawaii, or maybe CA or Seattle. I don't know how likely that is tho, since Bella's family is here.

LOVE

The fact that I can go for a walk or a bike ride without worrying that I will be killed/raped/attacked (by people and dogs), etc.

The fact that I don't have to worry about drug deals at the end of my driveway.

The fact that I can go and get the mail without worry about stumbling onto a drug deal.

:)

LOVE:
Living in the country, peace and quite.
No real winters.
Lots of land to do as I please.
No traffic to deal with.
I'm about 1 1/2 or 2 hours from every main city, Orlando, Tampa, WestPalm, FT. Myers etc. so far enough away but still close enough if I need some city fun.
Feeling safe...crime rate is so low here.

SUNSHINE :)

Hate:
Living in the country, yes I I hate it too as well as love it. The loneliness.
Th fact that it takes me 25 min. to go to the store.
A lot of the country people around here...little to redneck for me.
No real good place to go out.
Tourist season.
No real seasons........I miss fall.

HURRICANES!!

I have to agree with PCB on this one! :D Being originally from Indiana, these are the things that I Love about living in CA...

I LOVE:
The weather (it's not humid like in Indiana, and I definitely don't miss those -20 degree winters and excessively hot and humid summers  LOL)
The fact that you can have your doors and windows open and no bugs fly in! :D
The mountains/hills
The ocean/beaches
The friends I've made out here
There is always something to do...no excuses! LOL ;)
Wine country

I hate:
The cost of living
The traffic
Commuting
Bad drivers
Rude people in general
I actually miss thunder storms!! LOL

Would I move? Probably when (and if) I ever want to have a family, yes...because there is no way we could survive out here if one of us quit working :( But for now, no...I don't want to move away just yet! It's too much fun here! :D

I love the fact that I'm close to most of my family.
I love the fact that I can help more with dog transports where we are because there aren't that many drivers.
I love being familiar with my surroundings
I love the history of the state
I love having the 2nd best genealogy department in the country practically in my backyard
I love the fact that I'm surrounded (but not too close to) bunches of big cities

I hate the narrowminded people (there are a lot of them)
I hate the way so many people in the state don't care about their animals
I hate how ultimately conservative this state is
I hate the lack of diversity

Love-
The big cities
The weather (Hurricanes and all ;))
The people here
My house!
Proud to have Disney WORLD here!

Hate-
How crowded it can be
That FLA doesn't have snow
That Florida may dissapear if theirs a flood (:p)

That's it! Florida's my safe-haven. I don't think i would move anywhere else because florida holds a place in my heart, that no other state would replace! I love it here, even though people tell me how they would never move here because of the hurricanes, well hellooo theres all kinds of weather "problems" everywhere else. I just love it here! :)

Love:

Being in the suburbs surrounding the city
The fact that I live in the Capital, so the city is very important
That the citizens and Public Servants are forward-thinking (almost demanding that the LOTR - Return of the King World Premiere was hosted here Dec. 1 2003)
I can get whatever I want, almost whenever I want
Unemployment is really low
It's coming into summer
I have all my pets at our rental property - the landlord likes animals too!

Hate:
THE WIND!!! THE WIND!!! THE WIND!!! I hate the WIND!
My country is so isolated - it's a big deal to go overseas
All the Vet Clinics know 'of' me, but don't KNOW me, and aren't willing to take a chance on me
To become a Vet or get a good, thorough vet nurse education there is only one Uni offering VN and BVSc courses, and it is 2 hours away
Traffic jams
Careless people who abandon their pets
People who are cruel to animals

That last point just reminded me that it is the national SPCA collection/appeal week here in NZ this week. I will give generously.

Things I Love:

the great 4-H system we have here
the very hot summer and pretty cold winters
the livestock in every pasture
And, of course my best friends

Things I hate:

The people, if you are new they look down on you
I hate the school, they don't care about students
I hate the stores, this town is so small it has almost no fastfood or good resteraunts
I hate the way that it is not close to any of my relatives
And I hate the way that if you do something wrong then the whole town will know the next day, and it will be published in the " Gossip Of The Week" newsletter.
I hate a lot of stuff about my town, but there are some things I love.

Would I ever move?: Definately
