Everytime I pet him, he washes the area I touched immediately. He just started this about 2 weeks ago! Last night I walked by the sofa where he was sitting extending his royal scepter so I petted it on the way through. He immediately washed his entire leg! LIttle naughty!

:D Kuhio used to do the same thing. :D
She always acted like we were contaminating her with our hooman germs!

Jazz does the same thing. It can be a bit insulting.

Maybe he heard someone say "Cleanlenss is next to Godleness" (did I screw that up?) and aren't they the closet thing to heaven that we own? (OR owns us!)

:D :D

I think it's a phase they go through. Tubby used to do that all the time - and now he doesn't. I don't know, maybe he just got lazy. ;) :D

We can keep Ivy busy for hours just by touching her front paws. she has a little obssession with clean front paws. Human germs are lot allowed! The slightest touch from the humans on the paws is cause for a very intense cleaning session.

It's not an insult! It's one of the highest of kitty compliments! They are licking your scent into their own so they can have your scent in their fur at all times. Do not be insulted, you have been royally blessed and accepted by kitty royalty, especially when they lick the royal sceptre!
