OMG!

We’ve had a first today!

Bella has always been a shoulder rider and she loves when I hold her on my chest, face to face.

Today, she had been crying because I was in with Malfi (my sick foster)

I went downstairs to feed my three, and I was at the backdoor, watching Snowy using his new cat box, and Bella was at my feet, looking up intently.

I waved my fingers and SHE JUMPED UP INTO MY ARMS from the floor!

I was crying and laughing at the same time!

My uncle taught his Siamese to jump up, after he had heart problems and couldn’t reach down to get her.

Does anyone else have a kitty that will jump up into their arms?

I think it is wonderful and the ultimate act of trust.

My sweet baby girl, soul kitty.

Too bad you can't have someone video tape it! Chip my black Siamese boy likes to jump into my arms. He's reaching middle age, but still is 100% kitten! :D :D :D

My Lily does that--flies into my arms, then stretches out across my shoulders for a ride. It's something she figured out on her own. :D

Chloe will do that, too. She usually prefers to jump from the couch or a table, but if she gets too impatient, she will jump from the floor.

When Chester was younger he use to sit on the floor and look at me intently then he would be on my shoulder! He would jump from a sit on the floor, to my shoulder and land, light as a feather! Use to freak me out because it was always so unexpected. Now that he is much heavier, he hasn't done it anymore.

Filou rides on my shoulder and that is where he jumps -usually from the rim of the bathtub:D

He sometimes steps down from the shoulder to roll in my arms- but he never jumps there.

That is too sweet. As mentioned before I'd love to see Bella again. I miss her:)

That's so enticingly funny. I really wish at least one of my kitties would do that! I would think it was very endearing. One of my cats is such a fraidy cat I couldn't imagine him doing that.

I believe a lot of siamese do that. Our Ginger (a calico) used to do that when she was young, agile, and a little lighter in weight. She was also a shoulder cat.

How neat!!!! :D Neither of mine have ever done that. But when we had Dwayne, a stray kitten, for several months, he used to leap into my brother's arms as soon as he would walk through the door!!!! :) I always loved to watch him do that!!! :D

Of the cats that do that, how many are Siamese and how many are females?

Any males out there that jump into your arms?

I've only witnessed two Siamese females.

Filou who jumps on the shoulder first before he steps down in your arms is an Abyssinian male:)

Her mother's a longhaired tuxie, and I know nothing else about her ancestry. :)

Chloe is female, but not siamese.

That is so cool! None of mine do that. It takes a very trusting cat to jump into your arms like that. What a sweety!

My RB Scooter would jump from the floor onto my shoulders only when I was sitting down at the kitchen table though. I guess with him being only 7 months old and me being 5'7'' tall was just a little to high for him to try while I was standing.:)

Very interesting.

Both males and females and not only Siamese.
But, are all of these cats 'lightweights'?

Bella only weighs 9 lbs.

What's the heaviest cat that does this?

Filou only weighs 7,5 lb:D I am very happy that our Tigris (13 lb) never has ideas like that:p
