In just 1 1/2 short hours I will be taking Sweet Annie to the airport. She is off to a brand new life that I know not everyone agrees with. But she is a much loved foster and she deserves a proper send off.
Hugs and Kisses, sweetie, you will always have a place in my heart.

Not to stir up old stuff, but why doesn't everyone agree with Annie going to England?

Have a safe and wonderful flight, Annie. You are one lucky cat, going to England! I wish I were going with you! Don't be too put off by their "weird" accents (;))! Hopefully your new meowmie will take videos of you and before long, you will have a "weird" accent too. :) God speed to you Annie!

Sweet Annie, good luck on your flight. It will be such a small portion of your long life, when it is overwith, that it will be forgotten. You stole my heart a long time ago, and my best wishes and prayer go with you, and are also with your new mom, Jenny, who will love you to pieces, as well as your "other" mom, Jen, whose heart is breaking, but will heal as soon as she knows you have safely landed in your new home.

Hugs to all of you and many, many prayers.

Oh Annie, I bet you will be just fine. I know the adjustment to a new home may be a tad (<---- very British) stressful, but chin up, deary.

You are going to be in a fine home Annie, from one mummy Jen to another mummy Jen, isn't that neat! Bon voyage sweet Kitty, the fact that Jenny and Steve have gone to so much effort to adopt you , proves how much they love and want you!!

Now baby don't you go loosing that American Accent, be proud of it!!!!;)

There was some "stuff" posted earlier in this process (for those of you who are asking) where people thought that tranporting Annie via airlines over the ocean was not in her best interest. It's a long flight in a crate.

My thought is that a long flight in a crate is a short piece of Annie's life, and if Jenny and her husband feel this is right, then by George, I want her to be there with them! It is an unusual and expensive alternative to Annie finding a home in the US, but that didn't happen. I am in full support of Annie's transatlantic trip to be with Jenny, if that's what Jen thinks is right, after all these months of having her in her home.

God speed, Annie Girl. We want an update as soon as possible!!!!

Aww Jen {{{Hugs}}} sweetheart - it must have been a very difficult day for you to get through - you were in my thoughts an awful lot xxx

It's now 10.00am here and if the plane was on time Annie will be on English soil - that sure is some thought isn't it?

She's left the most loving foster Meowmie any cat could have had - to fly to her furrever home with the most loving Meowmie any cat could have! :)

Jen - I didn't forget - I left the lamp on all night (candles being a little unsafe!) xxx

Bless her heart.........what a trip for her! I would imagine you are so anxious to hear how she settles in.

This is an ignorant question, but I thought that England had a quarantine on animals. Obviously this must have changed.

We still have quarantine in England, 6 months worth !!! But there is a newish scheme called Pets Passport which means the animal can go though a waiting period of 6 months in their original country, with various blood tests etc and hence skip quarantine at this end.

So we adopted Sweet Annie 6 months ago but she stayed with her foster mum Jen for the 6 month holding period and as all her paperwork was up to scratch (welcome done Jen) she was released straight to us. :D

Thank you for the explanation of the quarantine.

I know of a family that was returning to their home in England. They had lived in the United States for years and they had several cats that were going back home with them.

They rented a home in Monte Carlo and the husband commuted for six months until the cats could be cleared to be brought into England and go directly home.

The link didn't work, so I am going to rummage and find it myself.

Annie is the same name as my Annie..........an excellent name because she too is very sweet and affectionate.
