Blacky is my first real cat. He belonged to a neighbor but was given to my family. I adopted the cat as my own, and he truly was a wonderful pet and a good friend. He would follow me every where I went, sleep on the end of my bed on cold winter nights, and give me lovings when I was sad or sick, he had this habit though, every morning, he'd rub his nose on my face to wake me up, I'd put the pillow over my face, he'd dig under the pillow to get to me. Blacky is no longer with me but his memories stay. I have attached a picture of him while he was out side investigating (he didn't go outside much). It's not very clear but it's the best I have scanned now.

Blacky

Black as the night
Eyes golden yellow
That reflect in the light
And a cold wet nose

Jumps in my lap
And I pet his fur
As he takes a nap
With pleasure he purrs

He watches my every move
Making sure that I am safe
When he's in a loving mood
He rubs slobber all over my face

He is my friend
He loves me unconditionally
His love will never end
This cute fuzzy friend is Blacky!

What a sweet message (poem) to Blacky. He was obviously a very special boy. :)

What a beautiful poem. Blacky was beautiful. I'm sorry for your loss. I lost my Blackie 3 years ago. They are always in our hearts forever.

Yeah, Blacky was a sweetheart. I remember when I first got him. Be was a neighbor's kitten, my sister was 7 and I was 9. They had him outside and he came over to our yard, we caught him and of course played with him. Then he started hanging at our home all the time. He'd meow at the door, jump hang onto the window. We let him in, and then the neighbor decided to just give us the kitten. We had other cats, my mom being a cat woman (cat lady of the neighborhood). Blacky was the cat I got attached to. All the members of my family had a special cat. Blacky was mine. He certainlt left his paw prints on my heart.
