For the last few days, I've been looking around for ideas where Josh and I could go for our first anniversary next June. I had wanted to go someplace like the Keys or the Bahamas and while we technically could "afford" it, our budget would be quite tight and I don't want to have to worry about spending $20 here and $10 there. I want to be able to enjoy myself. So I started looking closer to home and I thought of the Outer Banks. I found a realty site that allowed me to search through their homes and found this one:

http://www.outerbeaches.com/book/house.html?User=OBR31670&Num=394&Avail=06052005007

AND it's available the week we'd go! It's only $850 for a WEEK! To book it, all they require is a $100 deposit (refundable) along with the signed contract - that's IT!!! And, the most important thing, it's pet friendly so Samantha could go with us! She's never seen the ocean before. :) The Outer Banks are close enough to us that we could drive there, taking away the cost of airfare. It also means that we'd have a car down there, taking away the cost of a rental. And if we invite another couple (or two), we could all split the cost between us ($850 divided between 2 or 3 is AWESOME!) and the time of our lives!

I really hope he feels the same way about this place as I do. We only have one "First Anniversary" and I'd like to do something fun. This definitely sounds it to me!!

That's awesome. Justin and I spent out first anniversary (July 17) there 3 years ago. Unfortunately we were with his huge family, but that was part of the fun, it just wasn't "first anniversary fun".

Here is a picture of the house we stayed in. (sorry, it's a picture of a picture)

We climbed this lighthouse and on the top Justin surprised me with a diamond necklace for our anniversary. It was the first and probably only one I'll ever get.

They also have wild horses that run on the beach, but we never saw them.:(

You are going to have such a good time!!
