Yesterday sure was an unique and tiring experience.
The humming of generators and buzzing of chainsaws have become a pleasing sound.
As well as the TV being too loud and the birds who were once very annoying.
Of course, we didn't get hit as bad as the eastcoast, but we were expecting nothing when we got the opposite.
It was VERY windy, rainy, and scary. My mother and I have never talked so much in our lives.
Our power had went out around noon yesterday and had finally kicked back in around 2 or so today. Was very happy to have AC back.
I was afraid to go to sleep last night. It was still very windy and raining when I layed down. I was worried to what i'd wake up to in the morning. Still having no power, it was miserable. I ended up sleeping on the living room floor because it was coolest in there.
I was very worried about Dukedogsmom, Duke and her sweet parents, but was very relieved when I got to speak to her on the phone this evening. Even more relieved when our cable kicked back in and the internet was up! We're very lucky.
Our neighbor's tree 1 house away uprooted. A LARGE oak tree. Large branches down everywhere and trees split in half.
My mom said it was very eerie on her way to work, US 19 one of the most busiest roads around here, with lots of buildings and such on the sides, was pitch black. No traffic lights or anything.
I saw on the news that a large double-wide trailer had flew from somewhere and landed on cars in a parking lot.. just a few minutes away. Another parking lot, with the car windows completely blown out, and water inside.
There was no school today and no school tomorrow. Tomorrow we plan on going to my aunt's mobile park to see what damage her mobile home, and her neighbors have gotten. Her and her neighbors live in Michigan but come down here for the winter. She got a call from the park manager and said that EVERY home has gotten some damage, some worse than others. So, my dad and I will be going there and taking pictures of the damage and securing anything that may need be.
We sat out on our screened in porch the whole time, as it was miserable inside. The porch is the the south of our house, and the winds were coming from the north, so the house blocked us from the winds.
There was large branch that had fallen off my neighbor's tree which my parents ended up running out in the winds and tying to a stop sign so it didn't blow into anyone's homes/cars.
Kiara had a field day this morning with all of the large sticks in our yard.
Sorry, my words are all jamming together. I'm so tired and sore and plan on going to bed sometime soon.
Anyways, here's some pictures..
I have some videos of the strong winds and such but i'm too tired to mess with them now.

We tried to have fun.. although stupid fun. (This was when it was a bit calmer, still strong winds, but not as bad as before)

Our weather dog. She did not get comfortable at all when it really started. She kept pacing and pacing.

The moon tonight. It was so neat to see the clouds roll in front of it, and the last little bands of Jeanne roll out of here.
