Only on PT would I share this story!

I'm getting ready to walk out the door for work. Hubby is in the car waiting for me as I go through and turn off all the lights and give the last minute check. I walk into the bedroom and I see Magoo on the bed. He had my little huggy pillow and was kneading away or so I thought. I said "OH Magoo your so sweet wanting to be near your mama while she's gone. Upon closer inspection I realize we are NOT kneading momma's pillow!! We are attempting to make little baby pillows!!! I yelled "Magoo what are you doing!!!??? I got closer and his fat little body was all rolled into a ball and he was having the time of his life!:o:eek:
I turned off the lights and went to the car. I told hubby what was going on and I said I really hoped all those slobber/drool stains that I had been sleeping with really were!!! :p :p
Little Brat!!! I have some laundry to do when I get home!

Well, for all of you who find this so amusing;) here is the update. I carefully (with two fingernails) removed my hugger pillow and headed toward the garbage can. Hubby yelled "what are you doing?" I told him I was pitching my hugger and I sure was going to miss it. I've had that same hugger for over 10 years!! Catnapper Kim understands the importance of this. Hubby says "Oh for heavens sake, just wash it! It's not going to kill you!"

Richard a hugger pillow is a very special pillow that takes years to get just right! It's that extra pillow that you hug during the night. I prop my arm up with it, I hug it, I can't sleep without it! I will wake up hubby by flipping on lights to find my hugger before I go to bed. I have another one on the bed now but it's just not the same!:(
Why Magoo chose that I'll never know. Maybe because it is small, squished up, and really soft...sort of like Magoo!;) :D

Don't apologize for the crack about not doing everything. I hope your right!!!:D

You know I was thinking, we have Wally, Eddie and now Magoo. Is this a kitty variation of Leave it to Beaver?:p

Lisa - did you really throw it away??? It'll wash up!!!

BTW - I reposted the furminology dictionary - I thought this discussion might be a good example of *purrgasmic*:D I think the definition probably describes Magoo pretty well. He is not a dirty old man - he is a sweet kitty who was just a bit horny that morning. No big deal:rolleyes: Do I have to put on my nurse hat and give you guys a little lesson?;)

catcrazylady
09-28-2004, 09:13 PM
No I didn't throw it away. I made it to the laundry basket with it but no further yet. I'm still debating!! I know it will wash but my hugger pillow will now always have a new meaning to me.:p

I don't think we need any lessons at this point. I believe the visual aids have helped alot!! :D :D

He also may be doing it to that particular pillow because it smells like you and he LOVES you .... of course you never would imagine he would show his love for you so demonstratively, but take it as a compliment! ;) My RB Goldie and now Mishi do their thing with Muffy because I sometimes sleep with it and it has my scent on it. (I know my secret is safe here, right?) It's just the right squishiness for them; I guess to them it feels like another cat or maybe mama cat

Wash the pillow and continue to have your favorite, worn-in hugger pillow - I KNOW how important those are! I recently replaced my "hugger pillow" with one of those new Homedics "squish" pillows - it LOVE it and Mishi leaves it alone (for now).

I have to say....wash the pillow.....for Magoo....and find a new one for you. If you just throw it away and get a new one, he'll just start doing the same to the new one or to something else, so just keep the old one for Magoo and somehow hide the new one - under the covers or something - during the day while you're gone so he can't get it.

This is something he's going to do, so just designate this the Magoo Love Pillow and let him have at it! As a matter of fact, I wouldn't even wash it, just give it to him. I'm not a pillow hugger so I can only smpathize somewhat, but even if it takes awhile to re-condition a new hugger pillow for yourself, isn't that easier than depriving Magoo of his love? ;) ;) :p :D

Actually I'm surprised with all the male cats in your house that some of the others haven't "exhibited this type of behavior" already. To me it's just something male cats do and I guess that's because Tubby did it as long as I can remember. :)

I think your pillow needs a trip to the dry cleaners :)

Naughty Mr. Magoo! Has he been taught about the genetic problems of having inter-species babies? A Cillow probably wouldn't be a fun pet.....

On a side note, I had some friends that had a very small, but 1 & 1/2 year old female and then they got a male cat. He was about 6 months when their 1 1/2 year old female went into heat (neither cat was fixed). They thought that the male was too young so they didn't have anything to worry about.

I told them they were nuts if they thought he was too young. I said: "Do you know what they call cats that are 'too young' to make babies at 6 months?"
They were like: "No...."
I said: "PARENTS!!!!!"

Sure enough, that morning at 6 am when my husband I were fast asleep on their living room floor I wake up to find their 2 cats proving them wrong, no less than 3 feet away from my head. I woke up and the male cat kinda slinked away like: Oops, ya caught us.....

It was NOT how I wanted to wake up that morning :P

I told our friend the next morning: "Hey Joe, your cat's pregnant...."

Of course a few weeks later there were some babies in the picture. Oddly enough, one of them was born extremely deformed and had to be put down :( I know it's not funny, but I wonder if that was the one that I witnessed the conception of and interrupted the process.... Hmm....

Actually I really think it was probably a lack of taking good care of the Momma cat while she was preggers that caused the deformity.

Naughty Magoo and his pillow fetish!

It's not just male cats that do this behaviour! Peanut (a spayed female longhaired chihuahua) does this to her stuffed animals. Her favorite one for years, was a stuffed tiny Santa that got quite the workout!  It got to the point Santa was so well loved that he was out of stuffing and not much more than a Santa skin. :( My friend Barbara restuffed and patched poor Santa up, declared him "out of intensive care" lol, and Peanut enjoyed several more loving years with the old guy. :D He was replaced with an identical one that I finally found after searching high and low, but it wasn't the same old dirty Clause! Boyfriend's Arm Pillow big in Japan

Pillows that include a false arm that gently cuddles the sleeper in bed are the latest fad in Japan.

The Boyfriend's Arm Pillow consists of a headless torso and a stuffed arm that curls around the sleeper.

Manufacturers Kameo say they have sold about 1,000 since they went on sale.

Kameo says the pillow is not only an emotional comfort but that its shape keeps the body balanced by supporting the sleeper from both sides.

Just wanted to let you guys know that when I went to visit CCL, I *think* I convinced CCL to give Magoo back his security pillow:D She disappeared and returned carrying it between two fingernails :D Here it is..... the girlfriend, huggy pillow, object of much laughter and discussion:D Magoo seemed rather pleased to have it back - unwashed and cozy as ever!!!
