As some of you know on Thursday I took in a stray/missing cat, "Missy" and yesterday we took her to the local vet clinic where they read her tatoo, and found the number for her owners. We called them several times yesterday and today and still haven't heard anything.

Today we took her to the SPCA and they said that if they owners don't call in the next 4 days that Missy will legally belong to the SPCA and my Mom said if this happens we'll adopt her! :) I'm really hoping they don't claim her... I mean I could be wrong but if they loved her they would have at least contacted their vet, or SPCA or something to let them know that she was missing! But they didn't... so it's making they think they don't care about her. It was so hard leaving her at the SPCA, she looked so sad it tried my hardest not to cry... but I did! :p :(

Please pray that whatever happens will be the best for Missy. I just want her to be happy, healthy and safe.

Here's a few pics I took of her this morning:

She is beautiful. I'll keep fingers and toes crossed that in 4 short days, she comes home with you.

I thought it was strange when you posted that her owners were in a town about 20 minutes away from you. How did she get to your place - maybe she was dumped? And now to hear that there has been no missing cat report?

Thanks for the pictures.

I know I find it all quite sad - and strange. But another thing I forgot to mention was that one of the ladies we spoke to at the SPCA said she knew the family who owned her... and said that they were avid animals lovers, especially for dogs. And yet even with them being so called "animals lovers" they never bothered to report her missing...

When you first saw her, did she look like she had traveled for miles - on her own? Were there brambles or burrs in her fur; were her pads soft or did they look well used; was she really hungry?

She was VERY thin, and totally starving... her pads looked very well used and she even lost a pad on her back foot! I know she's been in our neighbourhood at least a month - possibly 2. I've seen her on an off the past month and a half or so.

With you and your mom in her court, she is a lucky little cat. I pray everything works out for her to come live with you. She will be in a good loving home that way, for certain.

And you said that she was spayed and had the tattoo back in February? That poor baby! I wonder why she left home - IF she left. I still have my doubts. She's so lucky to have found you - and she should be yours forever.

Thank you both. :)

I'm so worried that they'll give the cat back to her so called "owners"... I always say that the animal chooses you, and she came to me and so I believe she belongs here. We really bonded a lot yesterday, she's just the sweetest girl. She was licking my face and followed me every where. I'll be so heart broken if she doesn't end up here. I guess time will tell...

I'll be hoping and praying Missy gets to keep you as her forever home. Those pictures are evidence enough of a happy, contented cat. :)

Thanks for being there for her. :)

Thank you so much everyone for your prayers and kind words.

No call today... 1 down - 3 more days to go... :o

I'm going to call up the SPCA tomorrow and so how poor Missy is doing. I wish I could go down and see her but its a long drive to the SPCA. :(

How strange that her "owners" went to all the trouble of a tatoo and yet don't call. What a shame for them but I hope it's lucky for you!! She is a beautiful girl and you can see by the pictures that she is happy with you.
Prayers on the way that this time will pass quickly and you will soon have Missy/Misty home with you!

I hope she's yours! It is odd that the owners are responding, but who knows what's going on with them. Like you say, 1 down, 3 to go! :)

What if the owners went on vacation or something? Just wondering why they are not answering or calling back. But no matter, there's no reason why an animal should go back to a home where she's not being looked after (even if they are "avid animal lovers"). I hope you get to keep her! :D

I myself have wondered the same thing... I don't know what would happen if that's the case. I should ask them about that. I sure agree with you!

I wouldn't ask I would just bring her home. If the owners contact them later on then they can call you. I would just want to bring that pretty and precious girl home and love and snuggle her to pieces!!! I bet she can't wait to get out of the shelter.
Still hoping you get to keep her forever!!!:D :D :D

Good point. I don't think I'll bother brining it up.

Still no call... 1 more day! :D

This is just my opinion. If after all this time, Missy's owners have NOT made any attempt to find her, by reporting her missing or putting up posters, or even putting an ad in the paper, then they don't deserve to have her back.

I know for a fact, that if she was one of ours, we would do everything we could think of, to get her back home safe and sound. Obviously these people haven't.

Amanda, I truly hope that she will be coming home with you.:)
