That story just conjured up a mentle picture of providing a "specimen" and having a specially trained dog sniff it.:D :p

I think it's amazing how well a dog can smell things. I've heard about dogs smelling cancer before this thread though, I was watching animal miracles on tv last year and there was a schnauzer named George that was trained to detect cancer.

I remember hearing about something this a long time ago. A woman had some form of cancer that had not been diagnosed. I want to say it was uterine or ovarian, but I may be wrong. Anyway, her dog was consistantly sniffing, licking and pawing her in the affected area. She mentioned it to her doctor and some tests were done. Sure enough they caught early stages of cancer. I'm sure there is more to the story than what I remember but that was the gist of it. Animals have wonderful senses- we should listen to them more often.
