I know I haven't been on in a while, I have been unbelievably busy. I have terrible news. I cannot stop crying. Marley is very very sick. We took her to the vet two days ago when she wouldn't eat or drink anything and she wouldn't play. The vet said her stomach was inflamed and gave her some medicine that was supposed to help. It didn't. Marley acted the same way yesterday. We took her to the vet again today and they told us this; Marley either has an extreme case of pneumonia or she has Feline Infectious Peritonitus. We are praying it is not the latter. FIP is a rare disease and it is fatal. There are no cures. It usually happens to cats younger than 2 or older than 10. The vet gave us an IV that we have to hook her up to so she gets fluids. If it is pneumonia, she will get better. If it's FIP, we have to put her down. The vets are leaning towards FIP. We need a miracle. She is having trouble breathing. I remember when all she would do is run around and play and cause trouble. I love my kitten so much, I can't let her die. PLEASE pray for my baby.

I'm so sorry. I was just thinking about little Marley the other day. Whenever I see the "M" on Ripley's forehead I think about her and how you named her.

Prayers on the way for that little sweetheart.

I greatly appreciate your thoughts and prayers. We will know for sure if it is FIP in 2 or 3 days. By then, the antibiotics and fluids that we are giving her should make her feel better. If they don't, then it is FIP and there is nothing else we can do. I love her so much. She hasn't even grown big enough to fit in the collar that I bought her awhile ago. She's so little. I want her to grow up and live a happy life. Please keep praying and hoping for a miracle. Thank you so much.

Erika:
If Marley must leave for the RB then he will grow up to be a strong kitty and make lots of friends up there and watch over you. I'm praying really really hard that this will not happen.

An update on Marley.
She is walking around more now, although she walks funny. She eats a little at a time now, too. I haven't seen her drink, but we are still giving her fluids through an IV. I really think she is doing better. I don't know why, but I think when I look at her, I know she is fighting as hard as she can to live because she really wants to. I think she can pull through if we all pray and keep her in our thoughts. Pet Talk prayers can do wonders, and hopefully Marley will be an example! Thank you so much for your support.

Marley is not doing better. She is in pain. She can't lay on her side because she can't breathe. It's hard for her to breathe at all. Her eyes seem glassy. I thought she was doing better because she was walking, but she just follows us everywhere and meows like it hurts her. I honestly cannot stop crying. I really don't want to lose her. We need a miracle...

I'm sorry, i just saw this, my prayers for Marley too, do you think you should get a 2nd opinion on treatment? is that an option for you? I mean do you have a good relationship with your vet or do you feel comfortable searching for a specialist in cats in your area? you could do a search for vets that service cats only and maybe get a better diagnostic workup and prognosis before things worsen. Or is your vet really thorough and all. there is no fip specific test out yet. The newest thing is "footprinting" but it is only a few labs across the country that are capable of doing it- maybe your vet is able? I am so sorry. Again, I will pray for Marley to recover.
