I just met Carol Channing at the grocery store. As lame as it seems, it really made my day. lol. She is so cute in person. She was walking down the isles with a huge smile on her face like the cameras were rolling. I said "Hello Carol." And she stopped and started chatting to me. She was very sweet.
I read not to long ago that she'd mentioned a gradeschool crush in her biography. Well, the man got in touch with her and they married. He is from Modesto, so they live here. In the newspaper article, she talked about how much she loved Modesto's small town atmosphere. It really seemed like it when I saw her today. She seemed excited to be grocery shopping.
For those of you that don't know her, she starred in Hello Dolly back in the 50's or 60's as well as some other movies. Here's her pics:
