This weekend, my husband had gone to see a friend and the weather was super-beautiful. So I decided to drive the 1,5 hr to the Alps and to hike. It involved a little climbing and I enjoyed it immensely to be alone with my thoughts, the sound of distant cowbells and the landscape.

I hope you like it too:

This is the album but I'll show some highlights (not the one when I was slipping and fell at a very easy step :o

My mountain tour (http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=3606320093)

It started with a chair lift:

You will have to believe that this is me:

This is the view of one of the huts I reached:

The way back I chose a rather steep path over a ridge:

The views in the valley were spectacular:

Spectacular is not a strong enough adjective! How magnificent....thrilling, marvelous....oh, oh, oh!

Were the trees beginning to change colors?

What an absolutely fantastic scenery - it brings me back to last year around this time, when we visited and took the cable car up. Wow, a walk that must have been! :)

I want to come down and do it next week - you will have built up your energy by then. ;)

How beautiful, Barbara!!!!! :) Butter, being the hiker that he is (he loves to follow me on my walks) says that he would have loved to accompany you, and he would have been very quiet, too, knowing you wanted to enjoy the peacefulness on your hike. :)

Those pictures are fabulous, Barbara!

Andrew and I are planning another trip to Bavaria very soon. We want to do some climbing in the Alps before it starts snowing. The hiking and climbing in Spain were awesome!

Barbara - how gorgeous - just made me feel like getting out and walking - trouble is our scenery is a bit dismal - compared with that!!! I'm jealous!

What magnificent pictures! It can be hard to capture scenery with an ordinary camera. The photographs never seem to look so high or spectacular as the view at the time, but these photos are breathtaking. The weather looks perfect for walking. How lovely to be able to take a day trip to such a beautiful place.

These pictures bring me back to last September, when we were there :)

I hope to see those places again with my own eyes in a month :)

Stunning :)

It brings back my little dream of watching some Tour de France stages in the French Alpes and the Pyrenees :)
