Weighed him,,, wow!!!!

Went in the the vets today for some testing on Merlin,, (he is ok) and guess what,,, he gained almost 4 lbs in 4 days!!!!!! He is just over 28 lbs, just a few ounces short of 29 lbs now from the 25 lbs he was last thursday!!! WOW!!!!

I'm happy we will be able to watch him grow up with you as he gets bigger... and bigger... and bigger!!:p

Our vet puts him at just 3 months.. and I am including a chart from a lady who runs a GD rescuse site,, its a growth chart,,,, Merlin is 18 inches at the shoulder....and right now,, as I mentioned before,, at almost 29 lbs

That said, Here is a general guide:

Week 1: 2-3 lbs
Week 2: 3-5 lbs
Week 3: 4-7 lbs
Week 4: 5-8 lbs
Week 6: 12-20 lbs
Month 2: 18-27 lbs (13-17")
Month 3: 30-45 lbs (17"-22")
Month 4: 50-65 lbs (21"-25")
Month 5: 65-85 lbs (25"-30")
Month 6: 70-100 lbs (27-32")
Month 7: 75-110 lbs (27-33")
Month 8: 80-115 lbs. (27-34")
Month 9: 85-120 lbs. (28-34")
One year: 90-135 lbs (28-36")
Full grown: 100-190 lbs (28"-38")
For males, 140-170 lbs. & 33-36" is typical;
for females 110-140 & 30-33" is typical.

That's big, I love Danes! I wonder how big Merlin will be when he's an adult? So far he seems to match up with the chart pretty well:)

the best part is,, this lady doesnt think he looks like a dane,,,, I had to laugh,,, he sure is looking like one to me AND growing like you said,, right on target!!!!! Mind you,, she did say its kinda hard to see from pics.....

Personally, I agree with the lady that said he doesn't have any Dane. He looks more like an American Pit Bull Terrier mix to me. The only Dane I see in Merlin is maybe the ears.. He has APBT eyes. Dane's eyes are shallow in a way, regal, with a far away look... APBT eyes are more narrow like your pup's eyes. With the weight deal - puppies grow like crazy and don't slow down until about 6-8 months.... and some APBT's can weigh over 100... so a large APBT puppy would be about that size at 4 months... I doubt 3 months... He might be Dane-Pit though.. it is possible though not common..

Then again, it's hard to tell with puppies. He might look one way as a pup, but grow up looking like something else. I'm not trying to discourage you or anything... Just giving my 2 cents..

I agree too that Merlin does not look like he has a lot of dane in him. (if that is the black & white dog in your sig).

BCblondie, I don't even see dane in the ears, definetly no.

But I do see one very cute pup. It may be part dane, pit bull, lab etc.. I see many breeds or possible breeds in him, I could go on & on.

But no matter what I do see ONE VERY CUTE PUP!!!!!

Wow! Merlin gains weight like I do! lol. He is an adorable pup. I guess we'll know what he is know for sure when he's full grown. If you have to buy him a queen size bed to sleep on, he's a dane. :D

Well.. whatever the heck he is,, we will keep him,,, :D I am attached! and he and Lucy are getting along super these days....

I still hope there is Dane in there,, but I suppose only time will tell.
