My Hermies :D *PICS*

Anyone gots hermies? i have 4 their names are Mango, (who has a pink leopard-spot shell) Doodle, (who has an american flag shell) Jaques :{D (Who has a blue shell) and Rocket Power (who my little brother named, we also call that crab RP. RP has a red shell with some red markings on it.) We got our crabs at the little CRAB PLANET (www.crabplanet.com/) stand in the oaks mall. When u buy a hermie there they give you a little setup with plastic palm trees, sand, half- coconut houses 4 the hermies called "Coco huts" and a little plastic critter container. My hermies were perfectly happy in their old critter cage, but today they got transported to an old fish aquarium, and they are in HEAVEN! lol. I'll try to get pix of the cage & the crabs :)

Lucky hermit crabs, they have a cool tank/home to live in!! I used to have a couple hermit crabs, along with some fiddler crabs and one blue lobster and one red one.

Yep, they have hermies of ALL COLORS at crab planet :) i hate big hermies though...:p they are sooo weird they are GIANT and it's just freaky to me :p :p :p i guess my crabs will grow.. i'm not looking forward to that day:rolleyes:

Cool! I have always liked Hermit Crabs.... awesome shells! Are they... painted like that??? :confused: I'm not much of a hermit crab person... lmao

They paint them and then they sell them at the little crab planet kiosk. the painted shells and the beach setups are some of the things that make them so popular ;)

Do they ever run out of there shells for diff shells? lol this is prob a stupid question, mine never did but the ones in the wild do lol

no, it's not a stupid question:rolleyes:
when you get them you have to get extra shells and put them in the tank with them just in case they get too big for the shell they have at the time. No, i have never had a crab change shells while at my house, but then again my crabs still have some space to grow ;)

lol dont they change shells when there scared to? I remember when i was at the ocean one time i was holding a bunch of them and one crawled out of his shell in my hand, I felt horrible for making him leave his 'home'/shell!!!!

Yah, they kind of look like A Fidler Crab except with a longer body!

Does the paint on the hermits where a way after a while...Im just wondering becuasse i got some blue and pink colored fish, after realizing that threre bright colors were artificial and were inserted some how. After about a year the color all wore off:( ;) :p

Yeah, the color does wear off after a little while;).
