I read this today & think it's a hoot. :D I can personally
attest to using the OR DON'T, the SCOOT, the WHAT?? and
the RIGHT NOW !! LOL.:D How about you?

( My WHAT ?? is used when Smokey just stands and stares
at me for no reason)

LOL! I use the TV one all the time. Works even if it wasn't really on tv. Except for the doorbell, they know if that's real or not. :D

Instead of 'scoot', we use 'move'. Works all the time.

All too familiar!!! Our understand, scoot, move, excuse me equally well. They also know the no rawhide on the bed, the stairs rules and Spot has learned the don't hump that (at least until he sees Huney or Keegan!) and is learning the don't pee on that (usually a sister's head!).

That's Great! I was trying to think of ones I use.

"Oz, I can not see through your head" --> This is my move you're blocking the TV command

"Do NOT step on MooBoo" --> This is to stop the stampede out of the back door or if their play gets too rambunctious

"Leave the Moo alone" --> To stop pestering Murph

"That's just about Enough" --> To stop Barking

"Go Go Go" --> To go ahead cuz they're tripping me

"Did I not just say" --> For when they do something I just told them not to

"Scoot Scoot" --> To move from my spot on the bed

"Go Find your spot" --> This is my one for settle

If I want to put real emphasis on the command, I add "You" in there for some reason. Not sure how it started, but amazingly enough it does work.

"You Stop"

"You Wait"

"Listen You"

"You Come"

"You Stay"

And instead of "No", I use "UntUh". That command is awesome. Whereas they'll ignore "No" an "UntUh" gets immediate compliance. Ah, the power of "UntUh". I just love that command :)

I use "Scoot!" and "Upstairs/Downstairs."

I also have a few of my own:

"Can it!"

"I don't want to hear that snout!"

"No kisses!"

"Don't even think about it!"

Oh, and "Lefty, it was ME!" when he's barking like crazy because I've dropped something, closed a drawer, etc.

These work with cats too! With Remus I use the "Or don't" quite a bit!

"Stop scratching the couch....or don't"
"Stop harassing the plants...or don't"

You get the idea lol.

Another one that REALLY gets his attention is "Spray the kitty!" Usually if Remus is being Naw-tee I just have to Mention that Im getting up to get the squirt bottle and he knocks off his naw-tee behaviors!

This is so funny!!!
Thanks for the laughs Liz:D

I probably use the strangest commands on my dogs--I act like they are humans!!
Once, my husband was yelling for them in the backyard, and he told them something like if they couldn't share, the ball would have to be taken away, and that he was counting to 3. Our neighbors got a real kick out of that one--they said "when did you guys have kids??";)

I definitely use "or don't", especially with Kito
As far as the "WHAT?" goes, I'm guilty of that one too--I have way too many of those to list, lol!!

I tell them "in or outside, it's not a revolving door"

One of my personal favorites that I can remember being told when I was younger: "It's nice outside, why don't you go out and play?"

Unfortunately I have to use the "no humping"

I also use the "tv" command
