This was posted at another site I visit, an article from today's Boston Globe. It is worth the read, for sure.
Brown Eyes of Wisdom (http://www.boston.com/news/local/articles/2004/08/31/brown_eyes_of_wisdom/)
Oh Logan, as Phred would say, my eyes are leaking. This man speaks so beautifully and describes so eloquently the relationship between a human and their dog and the heavy, crushing impending sorrow that he will shortly go through. I was so touched by his comments about his dog, sick as he is, still wanting to go for a walk. When my Ashley was so sick with liver disease and could not keep any food down she still met me at the front door with a toy in her mouth and her tailing wagging. These furry sweeties are here way too short but their lives are never forgotten. Thank you for that.

Logan,
Thanks for sharing this story. So sad, yet beautifully written.
I believe we can all relate to this man's love & appreciation of
his dog Harry. I hope Harry passes peacefully when his time comes. :(

By the time I got to the end of that, I had tears just streaming down my face. I have known that pain and I will know it again, but in between is the pure heaven of unbiased, nonjudgemental, unconditional love 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
At the bottom it had an e-mail address for the author. I may write him and tell him how much that touched me.
Thanks for sharing Logan.

That was so sad. I know we can all relate to how he feels. I'm going to send him an email with a link to our love letter thread. I just love it when men can love a dog as much as I can. Too bad there aren't more of them.

Yup, a real tearjerker, and it really hits home for me now that Sadie is 12. I am thankful she is still pretty healthy. It reminds me that I need to take some vacation days to spend with her. Time passes too quickly.
