I have been sitting here for 3 hours messing about with a web page i am making, it was all going fine until i wanted to add a Guestbook. The problem is Cut and Paste is not working, i can cut and paste but when i publish the page and then visit it the guestbook is still in code. Can anyone help?

I've only used Yahoo. You might contact bravenet to ask them about it. I have no clue.

I've never used bravenet but I took a look at your codes.
Try changing every "<" to < and every ">" to >
Also, I think I spotted a couple bad codes in there. I think there's one right after the <div align=center> <br> part.

That's strange; I'm using bravenet a lot and I never had problems.
The code you're using is correct. To test it, I copied it and pasted it into one of my own html-files (only to test it, I'm not using it on any of my pages!), and it worked:

(BTW, it's a code for a chat room and not a guest book!)
It seems to me the code is not compatible with the scripts on your website, which would be odd because you're using the bravnet website service as well. I would email them and ask them for help. They usually try to help as quickly as possible.
