I've NEVER seen a spider that looks like this/is as big as this here. We just don't have big ones here. Anyway, mom freaked out and thought it was poisonous but I looked it up and I'm pretty sure it's called a yellow garden spider.

http://www.conservation.state.mo.us/nathis/arthopo/mospider/kinds.htm#anchor866508 Click on yellow gargen spider if it's not there already.

Oh!! Yesterday I was the same exact kind in the grass next to my house! I had never seen or heard of one before, and yesterday after I saw it at my house, we found one at the barn! It was BIG, pretty scary. I really don't like spiders, lol.

Garden spiders are cool. I don't mind them at all. It is strange, because most other insects/creepy crawlies really skeeve me out. For some reason I can handle spiders. I don't like big ones in the house (I trap them with a yogurt container and a piece of paper, then let them go outside), but I let smaller ones live inside. They eat all sorts of other bugs, and don't really bother me.

What a BEAUTIFUL spider!! You didn't hurt it, right? They're very beneficial, and they're not at all aggressive or harmful to humans. That looks like a lovely she-spider if I'm not mistaken. :)

I love to look at Garden Spiders and the intricate webs that they weave. Best of all, I don't think they ever try to come inside your house!!!! :) Spiders don't really bother me, but other creepy crawly things do.

Your spider is gorgeous, Audrey!!!!! :)
