Student arrested for blocking toilet

A US college student's been arrested on the Canadian border and charged with blocking a toilet after answering a call of nature.

Jesse Huffman, 19, told officers in Port of Sweet Grass that he didn't intentionally block the toilet.

He said he has symptoms of Irritable Bowl Syndrome and used "at most" a fifth of a roll of toilet paper, says the Great Falls Tribune.

"I've never been arrested before or anything like that, and I get arrested for taking a dump," said Huffman.

He was returning to Montana with four friends after visiting Alberta when port authorities stopped their car for a random search. The car's 19-year-old driver was summonsed for possession of alcohol.

Huffman was waiting for the driver when he asked to use the bathroom. He said he tried to show inspectors that he didn't purposely clog the toilet and offered to try to fix the problem himself.

But officers told him "they had absolutely no plungers within 40 miles," Huffman said.

He faces a criminal mischief charge. If convicted, he could get up to six months in jail and a $1,000 (about £600) fine.

LOLOLOL,

The driver gets busted for possessing alcohol and Huffman gets busted for a 'fifth' of toilet paper...

Sounds like a little college hijinks to get back at the border police maybe?????;)

Wow........poor guy.

That's why its better to wash with water before the toilet paper. You don't need to use as much paper that way. ;) It feels a lot cleaner too. :o:o

OK, I have one other question.

Just how do you go about measuring how much toilet paper you've used??

If the roll was not a new one, how did he know he used a fifth?

If the roll WAS a new one, then he would have to measure before and after to draw that conclusion.

And whatever happened to using one square, both sides?

And what if he plugs the toilet in his cell??

so that's 4 questions...:p

Man that is a bit extreme, getting arrested and fined that much , he should have been made to pay for a plumber to fix it, but if it was not intentional, and how do you prove that, thats a bummer.

LOL LOL slick! You crack me up!

On a more serious note, if this kid really does have IBS, then that stinks (pardon the pun) that he was arrested, especially if clogging the toilet was unintentional. Believe me, having IBS is not fun and can be really traumatic at times! Been there, flushed that toilet!!
LOL

Funny article though...:p

Slick, one sheet - both sides? Well, if it is the Sears Catalog and I haven't finished reading the other side, what should I do????

Wouldn't your had get dirty if you were to use both sides??

Gosh, I'm feeling a little flushed this afternoon. Must be this work that has me down in the dumps. But, alas...I must keep my nose to the grindstone so it doesn't all go down the drain....

Don't blame me. Richard started this. ;) He plants a seed then "runs" away!
May I suggest NOT using the Sears Catalogue. The glossy finish does not have the proper absorbtion-factor. A better choice would be the inserts or flyers that you get with your local newspaper. The fibres of the paper allow the "waste material" to be trapped, leaving you with that fresh feeling! In addition, you are actually contributing to recycling and keeping this earth as green as possible.

Phred: Good technique. You must have learned from the best.
Karen: ROFLMAO!!!:D
Gini: Animal House! Should be the theme for the next BBQ. :D
Lynne: Bummer!

Boooooo hisss!!! LOL that was a groaner! *I love it though hehe* My mom has IBS. I feel sorry for that guy, cause most jail toilets don't flush right!

If he clogs the one at the jail, will they add time to his sentence?

While I agree with you on this choice Phred, I find that the ink from the pages can rub off, irritating sensitive parts of the skin.

On the upside, it's a good way of storing those "secret" phone numbers. :D
