Well, they're actually my parents' doggies ;) I finally got some good pictures of both of them this weekend, so I thought I'd share.

This is Dixie. She was born May 9, 1991 - when I was in 4th grade - I was 9 years old. I'm now 23, so she's been around the majority of my life and she's very special to me. She's a golden lab/black lab/golden retreiver/husky/who-knows-what-else mix. I love her to death. We call her Dixie Doodle, which was funny b/c we just had a Dog Of The Day the other day named Dixie Doodle! Dixie has cataracts, hearing loss, arthritis and dizziness. I worry about her a lot, but she's lived a long and happy life....anyway, on to the pics.

Because of the arthritis and dizziness, she has problems standing upright. You can tell in this picture, looking at the position of her back legs. :(

Dixie and my dad. He loves her to death. They live alone together now, and he's so attached to her.

Next is my mom's Mini German Schnauzer, Harley. Harley is an AWESOME dog. He's made me want a mini german schnauzer of my own. Mom adopted him two years ago from a breeder. He was four years old then, and was ready for "retirement." He "talks" all the time - makes these cute little grunting noises - and my mom said when she went to adopt him, she went up to him and said, "Do you wanna go home with me?" and he looked straight into her eyes and talked to her, then went straight to her car without looking back once. Hopped right in, and he loves her to death. He's got a very soulful expression, and a supersweet personality.

Great pics :D

The second one of Dixie is my favourite! She's gorgeous and looks good for her age. And Harley is a cutie, I love the first pic of him, Squid lays out like that :p Theyre both adorable.

OMG! Sniff, sniff:) Dixie, Harley, I have to say, you two beauties are so very blessed to know such love!!! You're both so precious, each in your own very special way! And Dixie, it's clear, you've left your pawprints on "sister's heart:) And that pic of you and your Dad, the best! Seniors hold a very special place in my heart! Harley, I think it took about 1 second for you to steal your mommy's heart! Like my Jing, RB, you took one look and headed for the car and that was that:D Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful furfamily with us!

Dixie is too precious for words! How wonderful that you were able to grow up with her! I love the picture of her and your Dad. :)
Harley is so funny all splayed out in that first picture! I've definitely fallen in love with many a Schnauzer on PT...and Harley just joined the list! :D

Awwww!! they are great. My parents both have dogs that are dear to my heart too. My bro and sis! Mercedes, who lived with my mom just crossed the RB a week ago to the day :( - she was truly special. We adopted her when I was 12. She was 14 years old. She was a Bichon. Topper lives with my dad and he is also a Bichon. He's 7 and he is extra silly, but I love, love, love him.

Aren't they precious? How nice that regardless of who you are visiting, you have such special dogs waiting for you!!! :D I wish Jackie still checked in over here because she would be drooling over Harley!!!!! :)
