SEATTLE (Reuters) - A black bear was found passed out at a campground in Washington state recently after guzzling down three dozen cans of a local beer, a campground worker said on Wednesday.

"We noticed a bear sleeping on the common lawn and wondered what was going on until we discovered that there were a lot of beer cans lying around," said Lisa Broxson, a worker at the Baker Lake Resort, 80 miles northeast of Seattle.

The hard-drinking bear, estimated to be about two years old, broke into campers' coolers and, using his claws and teeth to open the cans, swilled down the suds.

It turns out the bear was a bit of a beer sophisticate. He tried a mass-market Busch beer, but switched to Rainier Beer, a local ale, and stuck with it for his drinking binge.

Wildlife agents chased the bear away, but it returned the next day, said Broxson.

They set a trap using as bait some doughnuts, honey and two cans of Rainier Beer. It worked, and the bear was captured for relocation.

A friend sent me the story on this. I thought it was funny that the bear passed up the Busch beer - either a beer connoisseur....or maybe a political statement? ;) :D

I was just thinking what a hoot it would have been to be able to see him rummage and open all of that beer.

The bear and Mario together? That's ALL Thursday's needs. We manage to be very silly without a beer guzzling bear added to the mix. Besides, he would probably hog the sofa.

Maybe we could get him to pass out in front of the fireplace. Then we'd have a really nice soft plush bearskin rug to lay on, without the guilt of actually having killed a bear to get it! ;) :D

ROFLMAO! Geesh...when the bear came back why didn't they just give him some "hair of the dog" and relieve his hangover and let him leave? Donuts and beer just don't mix IMO!

One-hundred beers-a-day waiter wins sacking case

A German waiter who was sacked for drinking up to 100 bottles of beer every day, has won a case for unfair dismissal.

The 50-year-old admitted that his bosses had repeatedly warned him not to drink at work.

He agreed he drank up to 100 bottles of free beer a day with friends while working in the Unter Taschenmacher pub in Cologne.

The waiter had worked at the pub for eight years.

A tribunal has awarded him 3,000 euros (£2,000) and three months salary after saying the pub had been his "dream". He also told the tribunal losing his job had been devastating.

Pub owner Rene Sion said he couldn't understand why the court had been so lenient with the boozing waiter
