I got a call from Kelly Services this afternoon. I got a temp job that COULD turn permanent at the Mazda plant. I'll be driving brand new cars off the assembly line and parking them!!!

It's $8/hr and the hours will be 4:30 pm to 1:30 am. The hours will change next month to 7 pm to 5:30 am. It'll allow me to keep my job at BB&B on the weekends, and MAYBE even a daytime shift or two during the week.

I applied to Petco yesterday. They asked me back for a second interview and was supposed to call me this morning. I don't know what it IS with people these days! I stayed home, off the phone and offline ALL DAY!! Nothing. How rude!

I had to make a decision whether to wait for them (at the offer of maybe $7.50/hr) or scoop up this job at Mazda. Didn't have to ask me twice!!!

FINALLY!!!

Congratulations!

A night job isn't so bad; you can curl up and snooze with your cats during the day ;)

I think a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush and would seriously consider the Mazda offer. :)

Years ago I toured the GM / Lordstown (Cavalier & Sunfire) Assembly
Plant with the Fire Dept...

The "Drive-Off Crew" started the cars (for the First Time) and
drove a few yards to the Final Test / Dynamometer station where the
Driver/Tester operated ("drove") the car for several minutes on the
Dyno which was under computer control to simulate actual on-the-road
driving and braking. During the high speed "cruse" part of
the test; the Driver checked lights (using mirrors around the test stand),
power windows, and the sound system - ALWAYS at full volume!

Then the *phunn part* started as the Dyno flashed its Green Light and
the car was OK'd to "roll-out" into the shipping yard...

We could tell which ones had the High Performance Packages ~
Reve er up; "drop" it into gear...
and "Burn Rubber" out the door!! :D

Have *PHUNN* - and don't *ding* any New Fenders! :p

Way to go Donna! I used to work nights and it's not too bad really. Sunrises are amazing when you've been up all night and can slooooowly watch the sky first start to change colors before the sun even starts to rise. Way
