Is there anybody that can lead me to the original post about the rainbow bridge? I have read enough posts about it to know it's a poem about where our beloved companions go when they pass, but the search function is proving to be tedious if you don't know who, when or in what topic something was posted in. Thanks!

Enthusiologist's posting of the Rainbow Bridge poem is here. (http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/Forum21/HTML/000021.html)

I first heard of the Rainbow Bridge when I read Scout's story (http://PetoftheDay.com/archive/1997/December/14.html) in 1997. However, I do not know how the term "Rainbow Bridge" was coined. Perhaps, it is from this poem. Hopefully someone knows the source.

Hello, the site, in-memory-of-pets.com has the Rainbow Bridge poem also. On the home page scroll down to "poems and prayers" and you will find it listed there. However,it also says the author is unknown. This is a wonderful helpful, healing site I agree that the Rainbow Bridge poem is comforting.

I think Gini is right; I just read a copy of the original poem at the Labsr4u site yesterday; while the basic sentiment was the same, it was worded a bit differently than what Paul posted and said the original author was unknown. www.bestfriends.com, (http://www.bestfriends.com,) on their "Prayers, Healing and Support" forum, also has a major site just for "Rainbow Bridge" postings and they know a lot about it. Good Luck

Thank you so much for posting this poem. I recently lost a baby rabbit. It eases my pain to think about this poem, and know he is happy, and I will see him again. Thank you again.
