Camera's broke....gotta question

My camrea is broken, it wont turn on. My question is, if I use my old microchip thingy that you put in your camrea, could I switch it in my dads, and be able to take pictures?

I think you would be able to as long as your dad's camera takes the same kind of card as your camera.

Is your camera the same *brand* as your dad's? Not same model, but made by the same manufacturer? If they're made by a different company, it probably won't work, but if they're made by the same company, then it should.
