Yes. Sounds to me like she might be over stimulated. Does she bite after you've been petting her for awhile? Kitties will sometimes do that to let you know they've had enough, but not enough to make them get up and go someplace else. After awhile, if you watch her closely, you will be able to see by her body language when she's had enough petting and she just wants to sit on your lap peacefully.
