View Full Version : Josephine's BABIES ... warning ... not for the weak tummied! (Richard?) lol

Josephine's first kitten was born right at 11:00 pm last night (August 11th). It was a precious black and white, much like my Tucker! *gleams with pride*:D

Second baby came just fifteen minutes later at 11:15 p.m.,
3rd baby came 25 minutes later at 11:40 p.m., then just 8 minutes later came baby #4 at 11:48 p.m. (Four babies born on August 11th) ;)

Just after midnight at 12:20 a.m. (August 12th) came number five,
at this point Amy Beth and I thought maybe that was 'it' but we could still see a feel a baby in her tummy!
So 25 minutes later, here comes baby #6 .....
Josephine is (and has been) extremely exhausted by now and can't hold her head up ... until right at delivery. :(
We were starting to worry a bit about her safety at this point. We waited and waited, but yet I still felt another baby in her belly!
So after another HOUR, baby number SEVEN came at 1:48 a.m. (Aug. 12th).
Soon after this one was born, Josephine practically jumped up with relief, knowing she was finally finished! What a girl!!! I began the task of gently moving mom and babies back and forth in the crib while cleaning all of the mess. It was an extremely messy delivery, and lots of afterbirth that mom didn't have the energy to clean ... so I took care of it for her! ;)

What an exhausting but JOYOUS event!:D

OK, I will have to start the pics in the next reply .... hang tight , there are a bunch!

Kim

Yay! Good work Josephine! Look at all those wee litle babies! I bet there are a few more earlobe nibblers in there! They'll have a good older sister to teach them!

I've never seen the actual birth before!

Look at all the kittens! Josephine is such a good mom--she looks proud. (And probably happy that all those babies are OUT!) :)

Congratulations on the healthy births. They are all adorable.

Before commenting on the new kittens, Kim, I just have to say, if you are this excited/happy/proud about a litter of kittens, I can't imagine what you will be like when your very own skin granddaughter is born! ;) :D :D

Now back to the kittens - I've seen puppies being born, but never kittens - much the same but tinier since they were Old Engish Sheepdog puppies. :D

They are so adorable, and what a good mix of colors. Some b/w like momma, looks like a dilute tortie or two, maybe a tuxie and a "regular" tortie?

What a precious little pile of furbabies. :D

How precious are those babies anyway! :D OMG! Little calico babies and black and whites! Isn't it neat how kitty litters come out? You never know what you're gonna get! ;)

Give Josephine some extra loving and special care and congratulations on the babies! Of course you're keeping them all, right? :o LOL ;)

So you have a gray and white male and a couple of diluted girls, HMMMMM!!! Since my husband fell for our 'found' cat Mattie so hard maybe we coud 'find' another! I'm not holding my breathe though.

Congrats to Josephine and her beautiful kittens.

Kim - congrats to you and Amy Beth for working so hard with her.

THANK GOD! She finally had the babies, and I'm so glad that they all turned out so healthy! There's no wonder she looked so miserable!!! I think that's one of the biggest litters I've ever seen! And especially hard on such a young momma!

Dare I ask . . . I guess I know the answer before I ask . . . are you going to raise them for a time and then find them homes??? Seven kittens . . . that'll be fun! Boy, if only I lived a little closer to you . . . !!!

Anyway, Congrats to you and Josephine!!!

Good job Kim! The whole family looks super! And Josaphine is likely a great mom because she has had a few litters before- she is well experienced in motherhood! (The staff at Aniimal Rescue League mentioned to me once that they took in a mother cat with 11 kittens- the highest litter count they'd ever heard of- then said the more litters a cat has, the higher the survival rate, so the more kittens in each litter!). Kim, are any of your cats or Tabitha at all aware of what is going on in THAT part of the house? Do they hear kitten mews yet? Or smell special smells?

Yes, Tabitha is well aware ... because she has been booted out of 'her' nursery!:( She is doing great out in the rest of the house with the others, but she still squeals at the door to come in for nursing time! Can't have her getting out of the earlobe habit!!! ;) :D

Not having any sleep for 24 hours alone takes them several days to recover from that! Trying to catch up and keep up...PHEW! 28 days worth is a LOT!!

But man! Do I envy you now with SEVEN babies in the house and you get to keep them from birth to toddlerhood and then send them on their way to a great life.. WONDERFUL! I just love that Mama, she is so pretty!! I would be ever so tempted...... and all that in one pile is to beautiful for words!!

How about Tawney? (Is that her name?) What is the latest on that situation? Anything new?
