Cats eating grass

My cat is a house cat. When we let him outside he is always looking for a certain kind of grass to eat. He eats only a certain kind and it is a wide blade type. I would like to plant some for him so he can have some all winter. Does any know what kind of grass they eat and will this hurt him?
