I decided to work on my nearly non-existent sewing skills and make a little mousie toy for the fur babies. Boy was I ever surprised when the toy was a hit!

Mowgli had it first and was really enjoying it while Zelda looked on.

But it sure didn't take Zelda long to make a grab for it and claim it for herself!

Even though Zelda's rolling around may lead you to think that there's nip in the toy, there's not. For some reason, these two utterly ignore stuff with nip in it!

They both take a little breather to just stare at the toy...

Close-up of the toy. I'm betting it won't take long for either of the babies to pull the tail right out of there. But they do like having it on there because it dangles. There's just something about cats and dangly things!

How cute! Love the little mousie you made.

Seeing the two of them together like that is so sweet. It's hard to believe the change that has happened so quickly with little Mowgli. You can tell he loves being with his big sister.

Whata great idea! Can I place an order here? :D Was it hard to make? I can sew, but I HATE machine sewing!

Actually it wasn't hard to make at all. And no machine sewing involved. I just took a bit of felt and cut a small square out of it. Then I folded it over and cut the felt so that two of the corners had a bit of a curve to them. After that, I sewed all but one of the sides together. Then I turned it inside out and stuffed it with poly-fil. I took some nylon string stuff and tied a knot in one, but the knot side into the mouse, and then sewed up that last side. All in all, it took 15 - maybe 20 - minutes to do.

What a cute little mousie! You did a good job on it and the proof is in the fun those two are having! They have been so good together. I'm so glad that they are happy and playing.

Has Mowgli been around strangers yet? I'm just curious how he behaves. How is the jail time going? Is he on parole again??

Mowgli's been doing ok around strangers. He doesn't get close, but he generally doesn't flee the room anymore. Dad was visiting the other day, and it was probably about an hour before he noticed Mowgli. He only noticed the Mowg-ster when the little ball of orange fluff was chasing Zelda around. :D (Nevermind that I'd fed Mowg some treats right in front of my dad while he was on the phone. )

And the little shrimp is on parole again, though that might not last. I didn't serve them breakfast right away this morning and he squatted down on the floor in retaliation, but I spooked him with shouts of "no" before he could do anything. He still keeps using my towels if I forget to pick them up out of the bathroom floor, which is annoying but just as much my fault as his. But at least there haven't been any more incidents on the bed!
