Several months ago I had an awful smell coming from under the house. I knew something had died, but had no idea what to do about the odor. So I called my friend who happens to be my pest control man. He came over and solved the problem and sold me a bottle of the stuff he used. I put it away, thinking it was too powerful to use around the animals.

Last night I asked him about it. Since he has a cat, I knew I would get a true answer. This stuff is not harmful to cats, even if they walk on it and lick their feet. It's a bacteria that kills odor causing bacteria.

It's called Bac Azap. It costs about $9.00 a quart. You can buy it at places that sell to exterminators. It works on contact!

I tried it on the dirt outside where the cats have peed and the odor was gone immediately. It doesn't take much of a spray to do the job.

I wondered of it could be used on a dog that got skunked, but I didn't ask. I can't see why not, if a person was careful not to get it in eyes, etc.

Sounds good!

Even if you would not want to spray it directly on a skunked animal, people always ask how to get the smell out of their house from a skunked dog. This should definitely work for that.

Thank you, Mary! It sounds like it might be an answer for me and my "barnyard" (dogyard) where the urine smell can get unbearable at times!!!! :)
