Question--Panting & Shivering???

I have a question, this maybe should be in Dog Health, but I don't know if many people visit there.

Jasper has been panting all night/morning, but he woke me up at 6AM this morning, and he was panting AND shivering, that's a really weird combination...

Does anyone know why?? Or has anyone seen this before?

hmm...

sometimes dogs shiver when they are nervous... and sometimes they pant because they are nervous. When Meeka is nervous from a thunderstorm or somthing she will pant and shiver... but if there was nothing to be afraid of... that may not be the case with Jasper.

Jasper, I hope you feel better soon.... and you will be in my thoughts and prayers. :)

The only time that I've seen my dogs do that is when they are scared.

Is Jasper still taking the prednisone? It could be a side effect of that. You may need to cut his dosage down a bit and see if it still helps his allergies. I would call his vet.
