Hi everyone! I just thought I would share this delightful artist with you. This is the art of J.S. Perry and I actually discovered her at one of our local "art and wine" festivals. I just love her work...it's very whimsical and creative. She's also a very delightful person, and loves to talk about her work and her cats at the festivals.
If I ever hit the big bucks, I would commission a piece of work from her of my babies. How cool would that be?

Anyway, I just love the "cup cats"! Don't they look delicious enough to eat??!! ;)

You can see more about her and her cats on her
website (http://www.jsperry.com/door/)

I love the one with the chocolate chips! There goes my diet!

What a wonderful website! I wish I could afford to have a personalized art piece done of my cat, Bo. Her whimsical pictures are a delight!

Nice! Those "catcakes" look delicious! :D
My favorite is Michael Leu, local artist in San Francisco. This one is entitled "Fluffy on the Bridge" and is one of my favorites:

His web page is at http://www.michaelleu.com. I have many of his (small) watercolors in my apartment.

That's cool Redhedd! Don't you just love these local artists? Especially when the topic is cats. Does Michael exhibit at local festivals around here?

Must save pennies to come to CA for Gini's BBQ *and* take some prints home with me!

Yes. I bought all my prints (I think I have 8-10) from his exhibits at the San Francisco street fairs. There's a link on his web page that lists where he'll be next. He also has his studio here in San Francisco.

Edit: Well darn, he hasn't updated his web page links. I know he'll be at the Sausalito Art Festival over Labor Day weekend (I'm on his mailing list).

Absolutely!! We would love for you to come!

My parents actually got me interested in her. They had purchased a print from the Garlic festival and had given it to me since I live in the "garlic capitol", which is appropriate. Anyway, it features a meezer! :)

My parents have this one hanging in their game room...it cracks me up every time I see it. See my Marius right in the front??!!

Ever since I got that first print, I've been purchasing one at every local festival that I see her at!

I love the meezer with the garlic! I missed the garlic festival again! Believe it or not, I've NEVER gone! Maybe we can plot a Northern California PT mini-meeting at the Sausalito Art Festival? I'll be free to play on that Sunday.

Great art! There is another artist in San Fransisco, she used to have a gallery near the wharf...Those pictures where they have the big expressive eyes. Do you by chance know who that artist is? I had some stuff from her back in highschool, but it is long gone.

I believe that artist's name is Margaret Keane.

Redhedd, you'll have to go to the Garlic festival at least once! :D I believe J.S. Perry does a new piece for each festival. I love it!

Yes, a northern cali PT meeting would be fabulous, wouldn't it? When is the Sausalito Art Festival? Sundays are actually really good days for me to get out and about...:)

Tonya, not sure who the artist is that you mentioned, but is the one that Redhedd mentioned who you were thinking about? Below is an example of one of her pieces. I just adore this...

She also has a gallery here (http://www.keane-eyes.com)

It's Labor Day weekend - Sept. 3-6. A Jamie Perry is listed as an exhibitor - is that your J.S. Perry?

Woo Hoo! Hot Tuna & Taj Mahal are playing at the festival on Sunday Sept. 5!

These are amazing pictures! :)

BTW, once an artist from Japan has emailed me and asked for permission to draw Luna. He/she had seen her photo on the web somewhere and thought she was a great model:

Here's that artist's online gallery (http://homepage2.nifty.com/catsportrait/) btw. There are many great cat portraits there! :)
