Not everyone will like this little idea of mine, but I tend to pine away at all the beautiful cats out there who are homeless.

I'd like everyone who is interested to search www.petfinder.org for a cat that you might adopt if you could.

Most of us are not in the position to adopt any more, but it would be nice to dream, don't you think?

Feel free to post more than 1 time, but only 1 picture in each post that way we cat savor each cat.

here is mine:

Easy game for me. I drool over petfinder all the time. These boys are at my local county shelter and they were featured in the paper this weekend so hopefully they have now found a home. I've been drooling over them for about two weeks.

They are Tyler and Tobey and I WANT them!!

If I could't have the boys I would love Ashley. She's 8 weeks old and at the same shelter.

This is Avery:) I think he wants to come home with me but hubby says I *always* think that:rolleyes: He is 3 years old and already declawed so I would not have to worry about THAT (him hurting my current babies) and they say he is very mellow. I LOVE his eyes.:D

I guess if I had to pick just one, I'd have to go with Tammy. I'm such a sucker for torties and calicos!

At least it looks like someone decided to take Karat home. Either that or I just missed his Petfinder ad. He was this BIG (22 lb) orangie that I met last time I was at the mall's Adoption Option.

Ok, I lied! Now my heart is totally broken and I'm ready to go getthis guy! He was in a home for NINE years and his owners got two new kittens. Casey didn't like it and didn't want to share his litter box so they dumped him in the shelter!!! He is missing his front leg from a dog attack years ago! He's terrified and they are begging for a home for this sweety! Now I'm crying!! Geesh, I was doing so good!

He is in Hopkinsville Ky. I'm not sure how far that is but I doubt he would make it with 10 other cats. Probably a few less would be better for him. He is so scared and from the description you could tell the shelter people weren't too happy with his previous owners. So heartbreaking. Do you know anybody Christa? At least he is in our state.

LizzieLou or Christa if you know of anybody that would give him a wonderful home I will go get him! I don't know where it is but hubby and I would find it.

Oh no, you've got me getting kitty fever again!!! I can't have another! But if I could, I would love to have this girl. I've been looking at her picture and description for a while now on petfinder. She's at a shelter in Jeffersonville, IN. She's a beautiful female (spayed) tortoiseshell the shelter is calling "Daughter #1."

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid131/p3cdcab9340f1a63e72b6c376e7dc41c2/f7b13ebe.jpg

Doesn't she look terrified?! I feel like I need to go rescue her, now! I'm such a sucker for torties too! :(

Her description says: "Daughter #1 came in with her sister, Daughter #2. They are both very sweet cats. Daughter #1 is a little more outgoing. They are about 8 months old, and are very nice cats. This cat has been vet checked, spayed, tested FELUK/FIV negative, and is current on all shots."

I would LOVE to take this scared little girl home and give her a real name and a furrever home!!! :( :( :(

This little guy is at Pet Network in Tahoe *Not too far from me*

http://www.petfinder.org/fotos/NV69/NV69.2952539-1-pn.jpg

His name is Buddy
Not only is he adorable *all of them are...sigh* but he has Feline Aids :(. My heart breaks for these special needs kitties.

And this is the other girl I want. Her name is Bella and she's an adult female. She's at the Woodford Co. Humane Society in Versailles, KY.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid131/pf0f82472121e83d8c6e737a5652b9eea/f7b13ebd.jpg

Her description says: "Bella needs to be the only cat in the household. She does not like the company of other cats. She is a wonderful cat when on her own-she is affectionate and very lovable toward her human companions. If you are looking for an only cat, please give Bella a chance. Bella is a little older - only 7 - but it is harder to find a home for an older girl then all of the young cute kittens."

Isn't she ADORABLE?? Obviously, since it says she needs to be an only cat, they wouldn't adopt her to me, but GOSH I wish I could have her!!! :( Being older, I hope she finds a home soon!

Christa and CCL, you all have my heart aching with those pictures of Casey! Wish I could take him!! :( If I find anyone who could, I will definitely PM you all. Hopkinsville is way west of Bowling Green. Mapquest quotes it as being about 175 miles, or 3 hours and 15 minutes, southwest from Louisville.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid131/pb4f2d7941fa732cc83563c74d3934139/f7b14077.jpg

This little girl made my heart melt. Her name is Snowball and she's 3 years old. As you can see, she has 2 different colored eyes . . . but, she's deaf. Her description says she's really sweet but she gets startled easily. She needs to be in a home that isn't very active, with no other pets.
http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid131/pcc203b6606da591a41a614dd848502c1/f7b12fc6.jpg

OK, I HAVE to quit this now . . . before I cry my eyes out!

I'm thinking . . . I just can't think of anyone that would take another cat . . . and as tempting as it is, I just can't afford another right now. My heart is breaking though . . . I'll keep him in mind though . . . try to think of someone.

I think you may know the Petfinder kitty who is number 1 on my list right now.:D

While it is true that once you start reading the stories, your heart will break many times over. But these kitties and so many more NEED us. They need us to look, to tell other people about them, to try our best to DO something no matter how small.

I sure am flattered (and so is BarbieAnn) that she was picked as a favorite.

Go to petfinder.com, under AGE, click on SENIOR, and for zip code type in 60527 and then pick one, any one. ;) Matter of fact, pick two or three or even four! Since this is a wish list. ;)

Sad part is I first went to the website of our local Humane Society because I would prefer to adopt from a kill shelter, and they had NO senior kitties. :(

....although....there were a couple of blackies that caught my eye....and one, I don't remember her name, but she was 12 and tiny and except for a little bit different color could have been Peanut! I about got up and went and got her immediately, poor little girl. :(

http://www.petfinder.com/fotos/IL34/IL34.1184973-1-pn.jpg

I am a tiny 12-year-old girl who is quite shy but very playful. I am so little and adorable that everyone wants to hold me, but, even though I don't mind being close to you, I really don't want to be touched. The person who adopts me would need to understand and accept that I will probably not become a lap cat, but that I am wonderful just the same.

http://www.petfinder.org/fotos/KY30/KY30.3158720-1-pn.jpg

Her description: "Pisa is a great cat! Very friendly and outwardly affectionate. She has had it rough! She was kicked by a horse, and has sustained a permanent neck injury that requires considerate handling. There are no medical requirements or expense associated with her injury. She loves other cats, and would make an excellent second, third or fourth cat! (Or more!!)"

Isn't that the funniest looking expression?! LOL! I'd love to have her. I love her facial markings! With that black nosie.... :D

Here's her decription: "Harley is just the most interesting looking cat. She was brought in as the result of a domestic dispute. We thought one of her owners would come back to reclaim her, but they have not and several weeks have passed. Many people show an interest in her but never return. She begs for our attention and is so unhappy being confined to such a small space."

*wags a finger at Jen* Now you've gotten me looking through Petfinder at all the darling babies in need of a home! When the day comes that I can afford to move out of an apartment and into the house, I'll probably run out and get another one or two.

In the meantime, more petfinder dream babies:

I've met Julian at the Adoption Option a couple of times, and the poor guy just doesn't know how to put out for the folks that come there. He's just too scared of all the noise. I hope someone comes along who can see past the scared little guy that wants out of the cage and see the little darling that I know he is.

Lacey - I met Sparkle back last fall or this winter!!!! She and her sibling Smudge and I can't remember the other's names are adorable. They were born last summer. Their mother is a gorgeous white cat with black spot and a black nose (like our very own PT Samantha) and has been adopted. She was found pregnant wondering around some trailer park. Anyway, the rescue group who has them has adoption days every weekend at the local SuperPetz about 5 miles from me. That is where I got Jazz and Scout but they were with another group, Animal Works.
