Hi all,

Last week, on a thread I can't remember now (how appropriate), we were discussing an illustrated poem by Paul Gallico. I couldn't remember the details, but promised to look it up in my parent's copy of the book on my next visit there. My sister found the book and sent the info.

The book: Honorable Cat
Author: Paul Gallico
It was published around 1972, sure to be out of print, but maybe you could get one through an interlibrary loan, if you're interested(?)

The first third to a half is a humorous essay about cats that's quite cute, but my favorite comes after. Dozens and dozens of poems with really sharp photos of lovely felines.

My personal favorite?
Poem title: "A Short Poem Descriptive of Someone in a Hurry with Something Important on His Mind"
Photo: Tiny kitten barrelling along a sunlit lawn
The poem itself? One word: "Gangway!"

LOL. (Maybe my sense of humor needs a tune-up???)

I'll look for it when I go to the used bookstore this weekend. I think I read that poem a long, long time ago.
