I thought I should properly introduce myslef, even though I have posted a few times already.
My name is Agnes and I am Jake's (8 year old gray tabby)mommy from Toronto, Canada. Unfortunately I just lost my kitty to divorce - my husband will be keeping him as he is keeping the house. I miss Jake so much it hurts but I know he is much better off at home. I will get a new furbaby as soon as I can.
I just love PETTALK and all the sweet kitty picures! You guys always cheer me up. The first thing I do when I get to work in the morning is look at th CAT OF THE DAY..and then on to PETTALK as I have my coffee...
I found another cute cat-site that you guys will love, here it is: http://www.i-love-cats.com/

P/S could someone tell me how to post Jake's photo on PETTALK, I would love to share him with you!

Hello Agnes!
I am sorry that you had to go through divorce and then lose Jake. I know he will never forget you and hopefully you'll still get to see him! Don't know how to post pics myself but I wanted to say hi!

Hi Agnes,
Sorry to hear about your divorce and about Jake.
I sometimes have trouble when trying to post pictures, so I'll leave the explaining to the experts. I just wanted to say hi and welcome. Hope you're able to get a new furbaby soon. :)

Hi Agnes. If you go to the Dog Rescue page (I think), Phred has posted step by step instructions for Mugsy. Look for a post from Mugsy. I'll see if I can find the link.

I'm sorry about Jake. When I went through my divorce, the cat, Mimi, came with me, and Chuck, our Yellow Lab, stayed with my ex. It was sad, but we got another dog, and I knew Chuck was well taken care of. And my daughter had the benefit of visiting him often. I'm sure your Jake will be just fine in his familiar surroundings, and I hope you will find the perfect new baby to love on.

Welcome back. :D

OK. I found Phred's instructions. First of all, you have to open a webshots account. Go to www.webshots.com (http://www.webshots.com) . And then follow these instructions. If you have trouble, email one of us, and we'll try to help.

Here are the *steps* to follow ~ AFTER you have your pictures
uploaded to a site such as WebShots.com.

Start a post here on Pet Talk;

Open WebShots in another browser window;
Click on the thumbnail to get the next larger photo;
RIGHT-Click on the larger photo;
Select and Click "Copy Image Location";

Come back to your post on Pet Talk;
Click on the "IMAGE" button below the message block;
Point the arrow/cursor Inside the pop-up address block;
** RIGHT-click the mouse;
** a drop-down menue with a choice of "Paste" should appear;
Select and Right-click "PASTE";

Now you should see a line in the message block like this:

Welcome Agnes, we are happy to have met you! I am very sorry that you are separated from Jake, that is so kind of you to let him remain in is home though.

I look forward to meeting him via picture when you can post one...the new furbaby you are getting too! :)

Welcome aboard, Agnes! Thanks for sharing the terrific website - so much to explore - I added it to my favorites!

You mentioned that Jake is a gray tabby, so if my Lily looks anything like him, maybe this picture will cheer you and bring back fond memories. She is "helping" to make the bed, and the shirt on the bedpost says "Have A Mice Day" and is a special made-for-cats shirt, but she refuses to wear it, even years ago back when it still fit her! ;) Lily is quite a bit older than Jake:

Oh my goooodness!! She looks just like Jake!!
What a sweet-pea!!
I visited Jake last weekend and he seems very happy and though I still miss him like crazy I know he is better at home. I will have to make frequent visits so he doesn't forget me! :(
