I was born in Vancouver BC and make my home in New Westminster, 10 min drive from Vancouver so like RedHedd, I'm a native too. Not many of us left. I'm also a 20 min drive from Ashley and about a 5 hr drive from Jordan and Jynnelle. As soon as Naomi moves here, I'll be near her as well.

I lived in Boston and Somerville, MA when I was in college, and have lived in Newton, Massachusetts since marrying Paul, except for a brief (3-year-)sojourn a few feet over the border into Waltham. It really was just a few feet over the border - on trash day you could tell where the border was by the change in color of recycle bins!

Pops, I just got your PM this morning, and my guess was going to be California also. I got that just from things you mentioned here and there. One in particular was when Jen mentioned what she paid for her house. I don't remember how much it was, but you made some reference to the fact that most people in your area drive cars that they paid more for. And when we were discussing houses, you said something about how expensive they are in your area. Well, not sure if there's anywhere in the country that the houses are more expensive than in California. And didn't you go to Yosemite park on vacation one time or something like that? Anyway, I would have guessed right. :D Now, if we could just get your dad to let you visit us Chicagoans when you're in town.....;)


I was born in Manitowoc, Wisconsin the we moved to Mishicot (15 miles N of Manitowoc) when I was 10. Then when I graduated high school I moved to Green Bay, WI and lived there for about 8 years, then moved to St Petersburg, Florida area. Lived there for about 5 months, then moved back to Mishicot while I returned to school to get my Bachelor's Degree, and then I moved to the great city of Chicago. Lived there for 3 years then moved to the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago and that's where I am now. Yes, I've moved around a ton and I'm ready to make one more move - out of Chicago! It's a great city and I love it, but I'm so ready to leave. Since I was born and raised in small town America, I'm now ready to leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind - far behind. ;) Just got a few more years to go though....

I *knew* that of all people, you would guess correctly........mainly because of our long house prices discussion in PM's a while ago. :p Now what other state is as expensive as CA? Maybe New York, but it was always pretty obvious I don't live on the East Coast, so I knew you wouldn't guess that. :p

Oh btw, I knew the Yosemite pictures should have been a major hint. I actually went to Yosemite again last April and took a lot of *really* nice pics, but didn't share them because two trips to Yosemite in one year would make it more than obvious. :p It was a lot more beautiful when we went in April than it was last summer, because the snow was just melting and the waterfalls were really *full*. Unfortunately we missed the snow season just a week. An early heat-wave caused it all to melt early. :(

Vermontcat, yes I do love snow because I never see it at my house. I have to go all the way to Tahoe to get snow. We actually have a lot of places where it snows, but Tahoe's where we usually go. At least we HAVE snow. Some states don't have it at all. ;)

The last time we were talking via PM's, I said that I always thought you lived in CA because of the weather thing. You said I was wrong. Not that its a big deal, I just don't see why there has to be so much mystery. Like I said, I don't plan on stalking you.

I don't live in CA for the sunshine, both Seattle and NY have thier fair share of not so mild weather. :)

The last time we were talking via PM's, I said that I always thought you lived in CA because of the weather thing. You said I was wrong. Not that its a big deal, I just don't see why there has to be so much mystery. Like I said, I don't plan on stalking you.

Nope. I'm positive I'm not confusing you with anyone else. I remember the whole conversation. It *started* with you asking if it would be possible for me to attend the meeting, while we were talking about something else. When I responded and asked why you thought I lived in CA, you told me you didn't know why, and then later, you said my weather seemed to be similar to your's. I remember telling you weather could be similar in other places too, but I honestly never told you I *didn't* live in CA. You may have taken it that way, and probably did, because I didn't want to tell people where I lived at the time, and said indirect stuff whenever anyone asked me at the time. I never said I did *not* live in CA though. I never told anyone I *don't* live in CA. I just tried to confuse you about it, and make you think otherwise. Stupid, I know, but that was just the old me. :p And I know you don't plan on stalking me. That was never my reason to not tell. Come to think of it, I didn't have a real reason at all. :p

I was born in Detroit but lived in the Upper Peninsula near Marquette for the first 22 years. Then Mt. Clemens, Michigan and Cleveland, Ohio for 15 years. I've been in West Columbia, South Carolina since 1986.

When I was 13 we spent a year traveling to California and back to Hazel Park, living like nomads. I don't recommend it, but I have some neat memories of that trip.

born and raised in new jersey.......summer in cape may, which i dearly love.......sorta call it home now. if i didnt have all my family in ohio i would consider retiring in cape may......i love the ocean, especially around cape may. i lived in madison, wisconsin for several years and came to ohio after that. places i think i would like to live.....stateside, that is would include california (i love sf)and washington state (i love seattle). i am basically an ocean person.

I was born in Texas and we moved around a lot when I was younger. We've now finally settled in Ohio but I'm hoping to get a job soon and I'll move wherever they tell me to! lol:p
