I can't be on much today, I'm going out, but I felt the need to tell everyone who does not have ticks in their area, THEY ARE SO LUCKY.

Yesterday Thomas pulled a HUMONGOUS tick off of Major! I pulled one (supposedly) today off Major. You're lucky our camera doesn't take good close ups, or you would be blind!

The little tick is on the kleenex and the big one...well....yeah

Last night I felt something in Major's fur...felt kind of like some gooey stuff, gum or a gummy candie was stuck there. It didn't feel sticky but it felt like there was a little ball stuck in his fur. Hard to explain. Anyways he was going to bed so I didn't feel like pulling him out of his doghouse in the dark and looking. So today I checked and never expected to see such a huge tick!!! IT WAS SO NASTY. It took me a while to yank the thing off, and some fur came out also. And...surprise! There was a little tick there as well...I'm thinking just a baby.

The little tick is now on the sink and the big one is....ugh I can't stand this lol. Anywho I tried burning them...in a sink:rolleyes:

Hard to see...but I gave up and decided to go back to the good ol candle.

Does Major have flea and tick prevention?

Try putting some Frontline or Advantage on him.. my two use Frontline.

I agree, they are nasty looking; especially when they're engorged with blood.

Ticks are horrible, disgusting creatures! We have major problems with ticks in AZ, hardly ever see fleas, but ticks are everywhere! Even with Frontline and such it's hard to avoid them. I HATE ticks! With a purple passion! My gf refuses to pick any off the dogs if she sees them, so I get to do it. ugh.... :p

dogs get lyme disease. do whatever you need to do to protect your pets! (I'm sure you already know that!)
I had lyme disease last fall, it is not fun, i had to go to the hospital every day for 14 days for medication to be IV'd into my arm.
Gone undetected- Look up Amy Tan's experience- she was hallucinating because no one believed she could have gotten lyme in California. She did. She could have suffered permanent central nervous system damage (brain).
