OK, I jumped on the bandwagon, and started a livejournal. Wow, I love it so far, and am very long-winded. :p

My question is, can you post pictures on LJ? Do you have to pay for an account to be able to do that?? And if you can, how exactly do you post pictures??

thanks for any help!

I'd love to help but I have no idea either. I don't even know how to change the background or anything.

I use photobucket to post pictures. You just copy the code and paste it in your entry.

The page where you update, after the field to type a message there will be something that says

"(HTML okay; by default, newlines will be auto-formatted to <br> - or, use the rich text mode.)"

Click on Rich text.

This will bring you to another screen, and one of the little buttons is a picture of a kid. Click on that nad paste the URL in the pop-up box that appears. As far as layouts, anyone that wants help PM me :)

Do they use HTML? I know some of that. Mine looks horrible right now as I've only changed the colors. Looks boring.

Yup, I didn't know about the rich-text format until just recently so I used HTML the whole time.

To change the backgrounds and such, you'd have to use css I think. This place (http://livejournal.com/~howto) has loads of tutorials that are useful.

For anyone who's curious, another way to add pictures is using this code:
