I'm getting my hair highlighted!

Lauren's mom is picking me up at 5 today to get my hair highlighted (she works at fantastic sam's)

This will be the first time EVER that any sort of dye touched my hair. I'm kind of scared. I don't know what color highlights I want though!

If I have the guts, I will post some before/after pics.:p

Kay - I think this is a great idea and thought so when you mentioned Lauren was having it done - you hair is light brown right?? How about some lighter glints of summery blonde?? Should look real natural at this time of year!!

Thanks everyone. My hair is a dark brown, some have mistaken it for black.... but I think they just have bad eyesight because it's clearly brown. :p


I'll probably end up getting blonde highlights, although i'd like red, blonde would show better probably.... hopefully the color doesn't go to my head.;) :p

I wouldn't go too bright, as you don't wanna look zebra-like, right? :) Maybe a darker reddish-blonde ... If she's a pro, she'll steer you in the right direction! Good luck and have fun!

oh Kay I can't wait to see pics I would go with A kind of strawberry blonde that way you get the red and blonde and it looks more naturally or something along those lines:)

Just got home about a half hour ago...
I got red highlights. Janet (Lauren' mom) and Lauren love it.
And of course I do! My dad's going to hate it. He hates red hair. OHHHH well.. atleast I have hair, and it's mine not his so he has no say! :p

Wow! They look really great! They make your hair look a lot brighter and shinier. I'm glad they didn't turn out like mine did. Awhile ago, I bought a do-it-yourself kit and my friend Joyce and I got to work. They were BRIGHT RED and everywhere! I kind of went overboard. Although my boyfriend liked it, I hated it. :p And Joyce has blonde hair so it was even more pronounced. They eventually faded though into a kind of strawberry blonde and then I liked them. ;)

I bleached the top of my hair blonde a couple of weeks ago, and it is dark brown underneath. I think it looks pretty cool. :)

I have colored my hair since high school, so for 10 years, and highlited a few times on my own. Just recently I got Salon highlites for the first time. I really liked them, my mom liked them so well, she got them too!

Both of my parents are gone to MI. They'll be coming back tomorrow, arriving Sunday. They have absolutely no idea.

We've tried contacting them, and Lauren spoke with them briefly tonight. I have not talked to them, nor have they called me ONCE. This is what they get, and if they don't like it, too freakin bad! :p


We've also thought of piling up the garbage in the driveway, putting for sale signs on the house & my mom's car, keeping the dishes in the sink, buying a blonde wig for me to wear (They'd totally freak), and all sorts of other things.

I usually do red highlights in the winter months and then go back to blonde in the spring and summer. My husband prefers the red (I think he has a thing for auburn haired women) but everyone else prefers me with blonde.

What's really strange is I'm getting my hair hightlighted next thursday and I was thinking of doing that color. I've had my hair done once last year they where light blonde highlights which made my hair color a light brown with streaks of blonde and, because I have natural highlights, blondeish tips. I'm think that the red would balence it out more.

I just called my parents a bit ago, and guess where they were? IN FINDLAY OHIO! For those of you who don't know, that's where many PT meetings were held, they were right by the hotel my dad, the pups, and I stayed in our first meeting in Findlay. They stopped for lunch.:p They should be here sometime tomorrow morning.

I think it looks good, it's very subtle. I didn't put anything in my hair until I was almost 27 years old, so, I understand how nervous you were. I was scared to death to put color in mine! now, i go back every couple of months. :) It's fun!

I just knew you'd get red highlights!!!!!! It looks so totally cool. I had red highlights once and just loved them.
