My husband & I are on vacation for a week starting Monday & we both don't have a lot of money. So, what can you do that doesn't cost a lot besides going to a State Park or something?
We'd also like to take our niece & nephew somewhere!
We live in WI...oh so fun to begin with!

Wish I could help with this Tina - but being in the UK it's a bit difficult!!:D :D
I don't know whats around you - how about nature trails and lakes - anything like that around you. Most kids adore going on picnics - yes even to the local park or down to a river.
Even just doing things they've never done - or don't get to do a lot - e.g. a train ride. Little things often mean a lot.
Good Luck I hope you come up with something and have a lovely break.

Here are a bunch of websites for Wisconsin tourism. Hopefully you'll be able to find something to do through these.

I agree with Lynne...picnics are always fun. :)

You can go to the movies, a sporting event, go for drives (then have your picnic). Things like that...relaxing, low key, but fun. :)

EDIT: I just went to the links posted above and there looks like a ton of stuff to do in the summer. Cool!
