It's a room in the garage with access by a catdoor that comes from the laundry room in the house. They all use with no problems and it keeps the smell out of the house. I love the set up!

Hope you enjoyed the tour. Please come back!!

Your house looks amazing! I love the back deck and the pool!!

All you guys have such great houses, there's NO WAY I am posting a tour of my new apartment - especially since I'm not even unpacked yet!!

Anyway, Jazzcat, I love your house, and your private kitty bathroom! :D

My Dad made a lot of the things in my house:

The curio in the living room
A rolling oak cabinet with butcher block top, potato and onion bin and a mug tree in the kitchen
The speaker stands, tv stand, coffee table and cd cases in the den
Cat tree and plant stand in the sunroom
The adirondak chairs with stools and potting table on the deck
Headboard, nightstand and table in the guestroom
Nightstands in master.

He was going to make me a headboard and dresser for my room but his health got too bad so now he only makes small things.

Thanks for the nice comments. Come swim anytime you want!!

I love the color of the foyer. You have some great decorating abilities. Your living room is beautiful, as well as, the dining room. We plan on doing our dining room in burgendy and cream,...nice, rich colors. Thanks for the tour!! Now I REALLY want a swimming pool :)

Ok, that does it! I figure we can take a 3-4 day trip and go down through Kentucky to see Lisa, down to Tennessee where we can see both Kim and Lori:D Brief stop in Gatlinburg and head back north to home.
Lori - your home is just beautiful! I enjoyed peeking all through the house. Where were the kitties?? The pool and backyard look so inviting. I think you must be the first to show us catboxes! I don't know why I skipped my laundry room where the catboxes are because it really is a cute room - pretty wallpaper and steciling - though there is a peek in my swinging catdoor thread.
Thanks for opening up your lovely home. I really do want to visit!!! Can we come??;)

I think that trip sounds great!! Plan it! I live about 1-1 //2 hours from Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg depending on the traffic. Just think, Dollywood is calling your name.:D

I'm on your way to Kim's so I'll go with you. I'd love to visit all her kitties too!!!

As for the cats not being the pictures, they were all busy apparently. Ripley and Scout are in that one of the den but it's kind of too dark to see them - Scout's eyes are glowing in the chair. In the breakfast area picture Ripley is in the window eating. Disney was hanging out with me though.

OMG, Lori, what a beautiful elegant home you have. What color is that in your entrance hall? My husband just fell in love with that color.

Touring everybodys homes has really shown me some beautiful colors that I could use in my house, which sadly needs a paint job so badly! The catroom is just the greatest idea! The only place I have for my litterboxes is right next to a door in my entrance hall. Now my husband is thinking about fixing something like that for our two kitties!

Thank you for inviting me to your beautiful home!!

Willie:D

Willie, thanks! That color is called Homestead Resort Pale Olive and I got the color sample at Lowes. I love it too but my husband isn't sold. He has an aversion to green because his mother went green crazy in the 70s. Everytime he walks in the entryway he starts singing the theme song to the Brady Bunch.

I just painted the hallway a color called Toasted Tan but it has a peachy look too it. Actually it is the third color I've painted it since last Thursday. I don't think the walls can take any more paint so Toasted Tan it is!:D

WOW! What a beautiful home, yard, pool, everything! I love your color schemes! What a clever man your dad is!! I know those hand-made things mean the world to you and he did a lovely job! The curio is just awesome. I wish we could see some of the pretty things inside. I am sure there are lots of kitty things in there. ;)

It was nice having a glimpse of Disney. I don't think I saw any other furries. I will have to go back and re-look! Oh and count me in as someone who would love to visit Dollywood so put the kettle on! :D

Your house is beautiful! I so wish I had a place like that. Hopefully by the end of next year, because house shopping here is hard and I am very picky about buying my first house. I looked and looked but so far nothing seems to suit my taste, so I figure we'll rent a few more months and save some more money and then perhaps just build something of our own. That way I can have it exactly how I want it. ;)

Great idea for the cat boxes too!!!

Thanks everybody. I'm actually wanting a new house and I may have to get a bigger one so we can move my Dad in if he needs to come live with us. If that happens I hope to get an acre or two of land so I can have more pets.

Kim - yes we do need to have a PT meeting and I think the mountains in the fall would be great (I wouldn't have to go far either :D).

Wow- what a house! Tigris wants to come and share the sunroom with Jazz:)

Someone should organize a Pet Talk Homeviewing tour so that we can see all these wonderful homes. It would also make a special for one of the fancy house magazines:D

Your dad must be the most skilled man I've ever seen. That curio cabinet is far beyond ordinary handyness!

Give him our admiration.

WOW!!! I LOVE your house! It's beautiful. I loved every room and all the colors are gorgeous! How cool that you live so close to the mountains. You are in a beautiful area with a beautiful home.
Your dad is extremely talented. How wonderful to have those great pieces hand made by your father. I'm sure those are very cherished.
I would love to come visit! Wouldn't that be fun! I'm starting to sense a plan coming on! Maybe one day we can all make it come true.:D :D http://petoftheday.com/talk/images/our_smilies/biggrin.gif

Barbara and Meg - thanks and I've told my Dad what everyone thinks of his woodworking and he's very pleased. He's having bad memory problems and may be in the early stages of Alheimers's (the neurologist hasnt' diagnosed him yet but says he's showing the signs) but he still enjoys woodworking and is extremely proud of his work. He was excited when I told him that people all over the world were seeing what he made.

Tigris can come share the sunroom with Jazz anytime!!!!!!

CCL- thanks, I too sense a plan for a meeting. I think we need to have a TN, KY and OH meeting (and anyone else will to come). We better do it before Debbie's grandbaby arrives, lol!!

What a great house! It looks HUUUUUGE!

Girl, if you don't like your kitchen, I would be happy to trade you mine. Mine is one of those long and narrow ones, so you can't stick a table in there, plus it has zero built-in counter space, so I have to put furniture in there to create the counter space. I have often wondered who designs a kitchen with no counter space? Am I supposed to chop stuff on the floor?

Anyway, your house is gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!
