As long as I have cats (for 17 years now), I always had some ficus benjamini in my rooms, but since you can read so much about these plants being toxic to cats, I'm a bit confused. They say that they're causing a letal kidney failure in cats.
My Luna doesn't eat the leaves but the uses to carry the dry leaves in her mouth and plays with them. My Katz, who lived with me for 14 years, did the same all her life. She often vomited, especially in her last year, but of course I can't be sure that the ficus was the cause.

What are your experiences about this subject? Does anyone else have both
ficus benjamini and cats in the house and did it ever cause any problems? Over here in Germany, almost everyone has some ficus, and many of them also have cats. My vet said that she never had a case of a cat poisoned by them but when I'm reading about that subject in the web, I'm confused and worried.
What do you think about that?
